Purpose and Objective

The purpose of the MRP Controller is to ensure on-time deliveries of purchased components/raw materials from 3rd Party Suppliers in support of the Manufacturing/Sales plan. The MRP Controller is also responsible to maintain the date integrity of the MRP system as well as communicate and interact with the Material Planners to resolve delivery problems relating to the suppliers assigned.

Major Responsibilities of the Position

  • Through daily phone calls, emails, faxes, and other forms of communication, ensure all purchase orders for commodities assigned are ordered and delivered on time to contract delivery date(s). Provide daily communication and feedback to internal planners and manufacturing personnel as to delivery dates, delays, and/or process problems. Attend production meetings as requested or required to provide the most current delivery information while obtaining manufacturing requirements. Communicate to suppliers any increases/decreases/scheduling alignments or changes to production requirements and assess impact to supplier(s) and manufacturing.

  • Order Processing: Placing Purchase Orders, Rescheduling Orders, Confirmations, Invoice reconciliation, Decision of order quantities and due dates according to stock balance and costs (e.g. finding volume discounts where possible.

  • Interact with Supplier Quality to ensure disposition of defective materials.

  • Monitor reports relative to inventory levels. Inventory/Supply control in reference to Raw materials, Material committed or MIT / WIP.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

Technical and Professional Requirements

  • Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred), Excel, word and purchasing practices.

  • Experience with Material Requirements Planning.

  • Experience with manufacturing practices of commodities assigned.

  • General office skills.

Academic Requirements

  • Related Bachelor's degree desired

To successfully perform these tasks it requires a high level of attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy. Major Responsibilities of the position: * Participates in physical inventories of warehouse. * Operates a computer and or RF scanner to access, enter, and correct information in the SAP operating system. * May be required to operate material handling equipment such as forklift, standup trucks, pallet jacks, etc… * Puts away, or stocks materials into assigned warehouse locations. * Must be willing work overtime and alternate shifts determined by changes in workload demand. * Assists with identifying and or providing suggestions regarding process improvements in assigned area. * Demonstrate a willingness to be cross trained in multiple areas of warehouse operations Safety * Works in a safe and efficient manner. * Respects and complies with all environmental health & safety Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) standards * Keeps assigned area clean free of clutter at all times. Supports the company 5S program. * Notifies the Supervisor of any safety related issues found while performing their job. Quality * Accuracy of material and job performance is required. * Utilizes Knorr Production System (KPS) or Business Process Manuals (BPM) standards as instructed by Supervisor * Contributes to obtaining the goals of quality measurements identified through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Receiving, Order filling, Internal Deliveries, and Shipping etc as required Delivery * Strives to be as efficient as possible to complete assigned tasks. * Works directly with Cell Leader to obtain assignment completion goals / expectations Cost * Continuously strives to identify cost reduction opportunities throughout the warehouse operations. * Supports Company centralized cost reduction initiatives regarding Personnel * Follows company policies, safety regulations, area standard practices, etc. Required Skills Required Experience Requirements * High School Diploma (GED) Preferred * 2+ years in manufacturing or warehouse environment is preferred * Familiarity with computers * Operation knowledge of jib cranes, forklifts, electric pallet jacks, etc… certifications, or other manufacturing certifications * Knowledge of an MRP System (e.g. SAP) * Context of Work/ Working Conditions: The employee will be exposed to shop floor conditions, i.e. noise, heat, cold, dust/dirt etc. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools and reach with hands and arms.
