Mro Purchasing Agent-D Shift (Nights)

Job Summary

Under limited supervision with alternating periods of relative autonomy and general review, obtains competitive quotes, negotiates prices and recommends vendor selection, purchases goods and services, and maintains supply of stock items to meet Technimark's requisition needs. Oversees plant needs to include maintenance and related operations.

Knowledge | Experience | Skills

• High School diploma, Associates or Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred.
• Computerized purchasing experience preferred
• Experience in purchasing and/or inventory preferred.
• Ability to be self-motivated and work independently
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Problem solving and organizational skills
• Strong working knowledge and experience with Maximo and purchasing procedures preferred.
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to mentor or train other purchasing agents
• Able to continuously stand or walk; regularly requires lifting/handling/carrying material or inventory of moderate weight (8 - 25 pounds)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for adherence to Purchasing policies and procedures.
• Executes buying strategies as defined by Purchasing Management.
• Evaluate vendor reliability and follows up on any problems regarding the use of purchased items.
• Maintain inventory levels in the MRO Supply Room to support maintenance and plant operations.
• Purchase materials in line with inventory targets.
• Track the status of orders communicating and expediting as needed
• Maintain the accuracy of the master data related to their products.
• Internal communication with different departments
• Assist in resolving issues regarding damaged/inferior products, returns, invoice discrepancies, etc.
• Identify savings opportunities and secure best pricing options.
• Maintain strong communication with suppliers; resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Work with MRO requestors within the plant on any urgent/expedited situations. Quote parts as needed for projects within the plant, and enter into the database as needed
• Proactively mitigate any potential problems in supply of materials.
