Their products support diverse markets and industries such as aerospace and defense, oil & gas, electrical energy, medical, automotive, and other industrial markets.
Located in near Pittsburgh, PA the Senior Manager, MRO Procurement reports to the Director of Procurement and is a key and integral team member within the business unit. To achieve success and have high-impact within your first year, you will need to effectively build and define an MRO strategy for 10 operational locations with approximately $200MM in spend that includes the purchase of key operating supplies, operating services and outside services to enable operational efficiency. This includes developing a short and long-term strategy relative to these items, determining quantity and quality required and negotiating cost, including development and implementation of a multi-step cost savings structure over time.
As a strategic partner to the business, a successful Senior Manager, MRO Procurement is a strong collaborator and has strong communication skills that enable the development of strong partnerships with Operations, suppliers and cross-functional teams to achieve business goals.
Build MRO category strategy related to supplies, Storerooms, Operating services and Outside Vendor contracts that drive process improvement, cost savings, and plant engagement
Achieve optimal total cost of ownership and manage supplier risk, while meeting the business stakeholders needs and objectives
Provide leadership, coaching and mentorship to a team of four direct reports responsible for driving change and significant cost savings throughout our business.
Develop and maintain key partnership with suppliers and inter-company cross-functional teams during the negotiation of, or development of, new materials, vendors or MRO supplies
Contribute as a key influencer in the qualification of new products, suppliers and processes that will yield savings for the company.
Ensure that the negotiated purchase cost, as well as operating and performance requirements of our MRO supplies, Storeroom supplies and Outside Processing vendors, enable manufacturing efficiencies to be realized
Assess current processes to identify areas of areas of continuous improvement where we can streamline and drive efficiencies
Partner closely with other business units and Strategic Sourcing teams to leverage opportunities that provide optimal cost savings, performance, quality and deliver on other KPIs
Accomplish year over year strategic cost savings specific to MRO, Storerooms, Services and Outside Vendor supply strategies.
Develop cost/benefit analyses for new materials and suppliers to ensure positive results through key negotiations.
Negotiate competitive contracts that form the basis for significant cost savings.
Develop strategic tracking, metrics and analysis to monitor current contracts and provide the basis for future contracts and supply needs.
Maintain extensive awareness of the markets, relative to job responsibilities, and their impact to sales and manufacturing strategies to support business goals and continuous improvement.
Interface with various levels of the organization, and representing supplies, service providers and outside processing opportunities to other buyers and operating representatives to properly define costs, benefits, logistical needs and future strategies necessary for success
Maintain close coordination with personnel from manufacturing and other business areas, as required Required Qualifications
At least seven (7) yeas of supply chain procurement experience including MRO category management
At least two (2) years of people leadership and direct management experience
Preferred Qualifications (in addition to Required Qualifications)
Previous experience in metals manufacturing and operations
Project Management experience
Change management experience
Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and people at all levels
Strong quantitative and qualitative skills to identify opportunities to lower costs and increase efficiencies, while maintaining an agreed upon target support levels for our customers
Strong ability to drive stakeholder alignment by communicating effectively with partners on key objectives
Demonstrated leadership and influencing skills
Excellent computer skills including MS OfficeIdeal Candidate
Ideal candidate has MRO Category management experience, team supervision experience...with metals industry is highly preferred but metals is not required.
