Job Title/MRO Buyer

Duties and Responsibilities

Support department, division, plant and corporate level goals in reference to cost, efficiency, and customer service within MRO scope.

Support buyer team directly in improving supplier performance and in improving supplier performance and measurable output using Honda supplier management techniques.

Support and help develop department business plan themes (1 to 3 years).

Develop and refine policies, processes and procedures to ensure quality, safety, efficiency and cost controls.

Professionally resolve problems (both internal and external), in a fair and ethical manner.

Support departments during business and technical discussions with current and potential problems.

Actively participate in providing feedback on performance issues to suppliers and develop action/continuous improvement plans as needed.

Identify and develop qualified suppliers/contractors that meet HMA business standards.

Identify and implement value added opportunities.

QCD Reporting Inputs for suppliers/departments.

Daily Tasks Performed

Daily support of resolution to delivery issues, DTR's and general plant and lineside issues.

Resolve supplier Service, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Management issues (root cause & countermeasure).

Interact with all levels of management, internally, externally and with contractors.

Minimum Job Relevant Experience
3-5 years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.

Preferably with a background in purchasing, coast negotiations, contract negotiations, supply chain, inventory management, maintenance, repair, and capital equipment.

Degree or certification required

Bachelors' Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or equivalent experience.

Required Skills

Demonstrated understanding of purchasing policies and procedures in a manufacturing environment.

Detailed knowledge of contracts, legal terminology and cost/pricing models.

General knowledge of basic MRO operations and practices.
