Under the direction of a radiologist, the MRI Technologist performs Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI examinations) accurately, independently, and efficiently. AH 123
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Satisfactory completion of formal specific training in an AMA-approved Radiology Technology program.
Satisfactory completion of a formal cross sectional anatomy class and a formal MRI instrumentation class (must complete classes within 2 years of hire).
Licensure, Registration, Certification
Requires certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) (R). OR: board eligible graduate from an accredited institution. Certification required within 3 months of hire.
Advanced Registry in the modality within 12 months of hire date
Requires licensure with the State of Washington as a Radiologic Technologist within 3 months of hire.
Requires CPR or BLS, must obtain within 90 days of hire.
Requires 24 CME credits every two years.
Able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on assigned unit/department.
Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and MRI physics and principles.
