What would you be doing as an MRI Tech at Reston?

  • Prepares MRI scannerand performs quality control tests. Monitorinventory of supplies and maintain room cleanliness and neat appearance.

  • Perform all MRIprocedures in strict accordance with currently approved practices as outlinedin department policy and procedure manual and comply with all applicablefederal, state, local and other regulatory requirements.

  • Obtain qualityMRI images of patients. Demonstratescompetence in following established scanning protocols and exercises ability toadjust protocols as required.

  • Reviews each examfor technical accuracy and identifies anatomical orientation on allimages. Identifies each patient andreviews the requisition for consistency of examination ordered with clinicaldiagnosis. Assures that all images aretransmitted correctly to PACS for radiologist viewing.

  • Reports anysignificant problems related to patient, physicians, procedures, housekeeping,maintenance, supplies, or personnel to the Lead Technologist and/or AssistantDirector.

  • Demonstratescompetency in IV access and IV contrast administration.

  • Utilize propersterile techniques in setting up and performing interventional procedures.

  • Performsresconstructions/3-D imaging and MR per protocol.

  • Properly enterscharges for exams in RIS (Meditech) in a timely manner.

  • Takes call asassigned by Lead Technologist.


Education: Graduateof AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology.

Responsible for continuingeducation credits as mandated by the ARRT for licensure.

Licensure: ARRT(R)(MR).

Experience: Minimumof one year as a MRI technologist preferred.

The IET Task Lead is responsible for advising and assisting host nation officials on installation, maintenance, and upgrades of the educational IT network which incorporates both Internet and intranet modalities.
