Job Description:
The MRI Technologist performs diagnostic MRI examinations and assists physicians with MRI procedures. Prepares examinations for interpretation; maintains MR safety; and assists with maintaining supplies.
Performs and documents diagnostic MR examinations upon the order of an approved healthcare provider.
Adheres to and enforces MR screening and safe practices.
Performs appropriate handoff and continuity of care communication to the next caregiver.
Analyzes MR examinations for quality control purposes.
Prepares completed examinations for interpretation by the radiologist.
Operates MR unit and all related equipment.
Operates all facility-based computer systems.
Administers intravenous contrast media under the direction of physician/per protocol.
Transports, moves and positions patients in a safe and appropriate fashion.
Assists physicians with special procedures involving the use of MR.
Participates in quality assurance / quality control activities as related to MR.
Qualifications
Job Qualifications:
Associates degree in radiologic technology from an AMA approved school, or program that otherwise meets the requirements to be registry-eligible.
Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) in radiology & MRI required.
Maintains radiographer licensure with the state of Ohio.
Maintains annual CPR certification/When Seconds Count certification.
Two years minimum experience in a diagnostic imaging setting preferred.
Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (Frequently: activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary Work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
