GENERAL SUMMARY Supports the provision of diagnostic imaging services to accepted standards and protocols and assure patient safety during procedures. FUNCTIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES General Support Greets, screens, and safely transports patients#to and from the MRI control room. Performs and/or aides patient transfer on/off the table, ensures patient comfort, as directed. Assists in administering preliminary and post exam instruction and answering non-medical related questions. Enters accurate patient, physician, and exam information into the NLH RIS system and log system. Ensures all MRI exam requests have the appropriate paperwork to be protocolled by the radiologist. Obtains surgical notes for all stents, clips, etc., to make sure they are MRI safe before entering the MRI unit. Demonstrates proper knowledge of imaging coils and able to position each patient for their procedure as well as setting up the coils. Assists technologist with preparing contrast agents and necessary expendable supplies. Assists technologist with paperwork as directed and then sorts and prepares paperwork for scanning. Assists with changing linens and wiping down equipment between each patient. Assists with sweeping floors and wiping down equipment between each patient. Assists with unit set up and break down as required by trailer moves. Maintains a clean and orderly environment. Manages requests for release of images. Confirms patients# appointments for the next day. Administrative Support Cross trains in all of the administrative functions of the department. Maintains working knowledge of the PAC#s System. Demonstrates knowledge of CD Burning. Demonstrates competency in the use of the computer appointment scheduling system and the fax and beeper systems. Ensures all#MRI patients have been protocolled by the Radiologist and all screening forms have been reviewed with patients. Any other duties assigned by the Director of Radiology Services. POSITION REQUIREMENTS# Knowledge / Skills / Abilities # 0-1 year Healthcare environment preferred Experience # Education # High School Diploma Or equivalent in education and experience BLS required
