About the Job

Position Summary:
Under general supervision of the Process Manager and Section Head, performs a variety of routine and advanced MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) procedures in the presence of a strong magnetic field while monitoring and maintaining essential patient care and safety.

Flexibility to work overtime/cover other than assigned shifts and other sites as needed. Holiday and on-call rotation mandatory.

  • Utilizes all their technical skills and training to ensure the safe and accurate operation of the MRI scanner including the screening of all patients and visitors

  • Evaluates MRI scans for technical quality under minimal supervision. Perform these duties using independent judgment and initiative

  • Must project an image of professionalism in conduct, appearance, communication and team work. Participates in the continuous quality improvement process of the department.

  • Participates in hospital wide compliance assessments

  • Will be required to take call and rotate to both MRI sites

  • Performs other related duties as required

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Graduate of AMA approved Radiology Technology Program.

Licensure, Certification, Registration: Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with (MR) designation.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Candidate must be proficient in Cross Sectional Anatomy, the use of MRI Scanners/power injectors/venipuncture or in the absence of this skill the ability to be trained to a level of competency.

Candidate must be proficient in Magnet safety.

Experience: Two years' experience in a hospital setting. Good working knowledge of PACS or in the absence of this skill the ability to be trained to a level of competency.

Qualifications Education/Experience: * The MRI scheduler must have excellent communication and organizational skills. * Must maintain a professional manner and appearance. * Must have experience with ill patients, sedated patients as well as inpatients. * Must be able to work independently as well as in a team. * Must be self-motivated and have ability to work in healthcare setting * Minimum of one to two years in a large, fast-paced business or medical facility. High school diploma or GED completion is required. * Basic knowledge of PC computer systems, ability to learn basic scheduling software and work with word processing applications. * Requires excellent typing skills.
