Job Description

MRI QUALITY ASSURANCE/CONTROL SUPERVISOR

Position Summary:

The position is responsible for establishment, implementation, and monitoring of the centralized Quality Assurance for the MRI Department under the direction of the Department Administrator, MRI Co-chiefs and with collaboration of the Medical Physicist. They will function as the administrative and technical leader for ensuring all goals for quality, safety, compliance, and accreditations are met. They will lead the MRI team to coordinate improvement efforts, manage departmental policies, and educate on the latest guidelines and regulations from ACR, DOH, and other regulating bodies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform quality assurance functions to accomplish business coordination, monitoring, and reporting of quality assurance studies.

  • Develop and implement auditing system for new employees and anyone that is in the process of receiving additional training.

  • Establish incentive and motivation techniques for supervisors to utilize when handling quality assurance.

  • Identify consistent recommendations for supervisors to follow when proper quality standards are not met.

  • Publish organizational quality scores consistently.

  • Work with operational leadership, training personnel, and reporting personnel to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate quality assessment needs.

  • Reviews, tracks, and communicates information regarding process variations and communicates to management.

  • Maintains current and accurate records of all relevant communications, audits, corrective action plans, and effectiveness monitoring.

  • Provide recommendations for process and workflow improvements on an ongoing basis.

  • Participates in meetings/work groups to ensure communication and knowledge of operational activities and assist with initial training on functions/workflow changes.

  • Anticipate and communicate future training needs. Work with managers, training department, and reporting department to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate quality assessment needs.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Familiarity with New Jersey DEP and New York State regulatory requirements

  • Responsible to ensure department up to date on Evicore Compliance/ Readiness

  • Compliance Responsibility includes Contrast Extravasation follow up/ Committee.

  • QA Assurance Program & Committee Meeting Responsibility

  • Maintain MRI Policy & Procedure implantation & updates.

  • Ensures quality of all patient MRI services.

  • Maintains and updates the State records.

  • Reports and maintains qualification numbers for both staff and radiologists.

  • Trains all MRI technologists for better utilization of resources and overall workflow within the sites.

  • Maintains MRI safety training for all Level 1 and Level 2 staff

  • Trains new staff as well as be able to re-educate current staff on positioning.

  • Works with the MRI leads and screening coordinators and reviews quarterly MRI stats, results, and testing.

  • Liaison between Radiology group, staff, Site Managers, referring community, etc.

  • Pursues and maintains ACR Accreditation in all centers that provide MRI services and State inspections.

  • Assists Director of Operations and Site Mangers as other duties are assigned.

  • Maintain relationships and works with all Radiology site leadership, Oncology, Cardiology, Marketing, and Imaging RN's

  • Form systemic standard between New York/ NJ/ West Med/ Oregon locations.

  • Adheres to the Company's policies and procedures.

  • Promote the organization's culture, mission, vision, and values across the entire region to all stakeholders.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • ARRT with an advanced modality in MRI and 5 years' experience in performing MRI's.

  • Outstanding customer service skills.

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and internal and external public relations skills.

  • Experience and success in problem/issue identification, documentation, tracking and resolution.

  • Proficient PC skills including ability to compile spreadsheets for data collection. Familiarity and experience with Microsoft Office Suite applications (Excel, Word, Power Point, Access, MS Project) or comparable products.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must be detail oriented with a high level of technical expertise.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience using clinical registration/scheduling and documentation software.

  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting.

  • Prior managerial or leadership experience.
