Andromeda Systems Incorporated (ASI) is hiring experienced aircraft MRB Stress/Structural Engineers capable of performing MRB repairs with substantiation and stress analysis to support US DoD projects. These positions are located in Jacksonville, Florida.

  • Provide liaison/MRB engineering assistance in support of DoD platforms

  • Develop repairs and prepare static strength/fatigue analysis of engineering repair dispositions for nonconforming aircraft structure

  • Provide repair guidance to artisans and physically inspect aircraft nonconforming structure

  • Produce reports to demonstrate that the design satisfies all relevant design requirements

  • Provide technical direction and oversight to less experienced engineers

  • Rely on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals

  • Utilize a wide degree of creativity and latitude in daily activities


  • Bachelors or masters degree in Engineering

  • Mechanical or Aerospace preferred

  • 5+ years of work experience as a liaison, MRB stress, or stress engineer

  • Familiar with maintenance and repair practices used in the aerospace industry

  • Familiar with a variety of the fields concepts, practices, and procedures

  • Strong working knowledge of aircraft static strength analysis methods

  • Effective communication skills

  • Self-motivated

  • Capable of working independently

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in MRB Stress

  • Experience with NAVAIR engineering and reporting procedures

Work Authorization/Security Clearance:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and qualify for Secret Clearance

In this role you will perform structural analysis engineering work in support of sustaining and fleet support activities for larger commercial aircraft primary fuselage structure. Structural Analysis Stress Engineer job duties: * Perform structural analysis engineering work in support of sustaining and fleet support activities for larger commercial aircraft primary fuselage structure * Perform detailed sizing and static stress, fatigue and damage tolerance analysis of assigned engineering detailed parts and assemblies * Calculate and provide requisite property data for internal loads finite element model generation * Extract and utilize finite element analysis internal loads data * Produce stress finite element models to support sizing and structural analysis * Provide stress support input and review of 2D Layouts and 3D models in support of the design development process and engineering releases * Produce structural analysis substantiation Strength Check Notes/Reports in support of certification Qualifications: * Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Civil or Aerospace Engineering from a four-year accredited College or University. * 8 to 20 plus years' experience in an engineering classification. * Fixed wing commercial aircraft development program experience * Good understanding of aircraft composite structures analysis, manufacturing processes, and materials * Proficiency in linear static finite element modeling and fatigue analysis * Damage tolerance analysis experience is required * Familiarity with composite structural analysis methods and allowables determination preferred * 787 primary fuselage structures analysis experience preferred * Experience with stress analysis tools: IAS, GK-Joint, FEADMS, FAMOSS, CMOSS Duberg, IDTAS, DTANL, SA preferred * Proficiency with PATRAN and NASTRAN * Ability to interrogate 3D model data using CATIA V5 is required * Experience with ENOVIA LCA * IVT digital mockup experience preferred * Experience with Abaqus CAE preferred * Due to the nature of the work being performed, all candidates must be U.S. Persons If you are interested in this Structural Analysis Stress Engineer job in Charleston, SC please apply via the "apply now" link provided.
