The Product Analysis & Teardown (PA&T) Team is looking for a highly motivated Engineer to work in the field of part deconstruction, dimensional measurement and design recovery. The selected individual would be working on the cutting edge of dimensional capture tools and technologies in support of Boeing Teardown and Reverse Engineer initiatives. The focus is on dimensional measurement and design recovery in terms of part dimensional measurement capture, modeling, and analysis.
The candidate will be responsible for providing dimensional measurement and design recovery technology and resources to enable Boeing support businesses to leverage Boeing's unique access to 3D data to maintain a competitive advantage on OEM and non OEM programs.
This includes using a methodology to collect and manage data and reference models for enterprise design re-use. The individual will be responsible for working directly with Boeing programs to develop requirements for new design recovery technology needs and transitioning/replicating existing BR&T technology to these programs.
The team delivers tailored design recovery consultancy and services that meet or exceed customer expectations. Since this is an R&D environment the individual should be comfortable working non structured development under varying and sometimes loose requirements with a focus on innovation and the art of the possible. The individual will spend half time on the design recovery tools and techniques development work and half time on fee for service scanning and post processing support for internal Boeing customers. Contributing to the evaluation of emerging technologies for potential application to business needs while promoting standardization across the Company. The individual will also support the integration of new technologies and will work under general supervision.

Experience translating internal customer needs into requirements that can be addressed by leveraging COTS RE technology.

Experience or familiarity of metrology & inspection processes, computer aided measurement systems, portable measurement tools, dimensional measurement software and product modeling software.

Occasional domestic travel required.
Willingness to take initiative and learn is paramount to success on this team.
Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 2 or more years' experience or a Master's degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
