We are currently seeking an experienced Moulder / Machine Operator to add to our team!

Position Summary:
Sets up and operates moulder to plane, shape, and groove wood stock: Reads blueprint, drawing or stock list and examines pattern shape to determine molder setup procedures and type wood stock to be cut.

Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Sets up and operates variety of woodworking machinery.

  • Studies blueprints or drawings of articles to be constructed, determines stock lists or can work off of stock list.

  • Selects and installs cutting heads on machine according to pattern to be cut and inserts and bolts specified knives in slots of cutter heads already in machine, using wrenches and gauges.

  • Positions pattern on moulder and turns hand wheel to adjust cutting knives flush with pattern.

  • Removes pattern and turns hand wheel to adjust guides, pressure bars, and table levels according to depth, position of cuts, and stock dimensions.

  • Starts machine, places stock on feed table, and turns hand wheels to press feed rollers against stock for feeding stock through machine or inserts stock into hopper of automatic feed mechanism that carries stock through machine.

  • Inspects stock being cut to determine defects.

  • Verifies dimensions of cut material, using gauges, rule, or caliper.

  • Accurately hand mills lumber according to specific requirements indicated

  • Responsible for all Material Tickets pulled/returned.

  • Accurately pulls stock according to board feet and wood type

  • Maintenance of molder and performance of repairs

  • Accurately cuts and trims lumber ensuring appropriate pattern

  • Inspects equipment and tools for wear and tear and reports condition found to the appropriate personnel

  • Performs additional tasks and related duties as directed

Skills and Requirements:

  • Understanding and adherence to safety practices and procedures followed in woodworking manufacturing

  • Requires Forklift Certification (may be obtained internally)

  • Ability to utilize hand-held woodworking power tools

  • Ability to follow verbal and/or written instructions

  • Ability to initiate and complete projects with limited supervision.

  • Ability to work and interact well with co-workers and other SSM staff and vendors.

  • Requires the ability to exercise judgment and decisiveness

Physical Ability:

  • Ability to lift and carry moderate to heavy objects of 50lbs independently

  • Ability to stand or walk for prolonged periods of time

  • Requires the ability to operate, maneuver and/or control the actions of equipment, machinery, tools, and/or materials used in performing essential functions

Education and Experience Required:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 5 Years of experience in equivalent field

This includes Health insurance that is 90% company paid, PTO, Paid Holidays and more! We are currently seeking a Full Time Engineer to join our team! Position Summary: The Engineer is responsible for the drafting and generation of CAD shop drawings and millwork details. Submittal of drawings, working with the project manager and production team to produce and prepare the information necessary for fabrication and installation. Functions and Responsibilities: * Thoroughly examine and interpret architectural and interior designs from drawings, construction blueprints, specifications, and supplemental documentation * Production of detailed and accurate shop drawings of millwork and casework and various other millwork items using CAD or other applicable software. * Accurately and clearly label measurements, plan elevations, sections, details, schedules and finishes. * Work closely with the production team to provide input on the best methods of construction and provide engineering clarification as needed. * Accurately determine hardware form, fit and function * Update field dimensions and revise drawings per red lines as needed from Architects and PM * Revise documentation per customers request, and/or field dimensions * Modifying customers design for functionality and structural integrity * Produce full-size profiles of moldings and identify profile knife locations * Creation of new blocks and sections in AutoCad * Build and maintain product library and catalog * Maintain organized CAD files/folders as required * Conduct field measures as needed * Consistently utilizes millwork knowledge to provide professional service. * Other duties and tasks as assigned Skills Required: * Ability to interpret architectural/design drawings * Ability to prioritize and multi-task with minimal supervision * Superior time management, organizational skills and scheduling ability * Ability to work with strict deadlines and in a fast-paced environment * Exceptional communications skills, attention to detail and strong work ethic * Proficient knowledge of AutoCAD and current systems * Proficient in basic math skills * Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings * Ability to interpret scope of work Education and Experience Required: * High school grad. (Tech. school preferred) * 5+ years architectural woodworking experience * 3+ years AutoCAD or related systems - Cabinet Vision experience preferred! * Custom cabinetry or high-end millwork shop drawing experience a plus!
