We are seeking a Motor/Drives Specialist to join our Gexpro team in Houston, TX!


Major activities include reading specifications, creating product proposals and entering and managing orders. Providing technical sales assistance, planning and coordinating/ implementing product promotions, training sales force and customers, and creating sales plans.

Essential responsibilities

  • Manage and create proposals for Motors and Drives.

  • Read specifications, unit wiring diagrams, and one-line drawings and converting these documents into Motor/Drive equipment lists using current pricing publications and software configuration aids. Assemble customer proposals and enter orders.

  • Negotiate pricing with Motor and Drive manufacturers.

  • Assist in presentations of the proposal as necessary.

  • Maintain the office quotation reports and follow-up system.

  • Provide Pre-sale and post-sale product support.

  • Provide Motor /Drive application and product support for customers and Account Managers.

  • For orders entered, provide ongoing order management, including order scheduling, customer changes, and expediting and project management of large orders.

  • Assist Account Managers in preparing and presenting product demonstrations and seminars.

  • Ability to understand market conditions, competitive forces, determine market share and identify opportunities for growth

  • Ability to define and grow new markets for emerging product technologies

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related appropriate experience.

  • Minimum of three years of experience in sales, design, or project management with related products, preferably with emphasis on 600V Motor and Drive Applications.

  • The position will require some travel to support customers and branches in South Texas and Southern Louisiana.

This includes business development activities such as working with airlines to increase service or working with developers and private entities to develop land and facilities at Houston Spaceport. All business development activities reside within the Air Service Development team. The Spaceport business development role will report directly to the Director of Air Service Development, but will focus efforts exclusively on business development activities for Houston Spaceport. The Spaceport Business Development Executive's main role will be to facilitate growth of Spaceport at EFD. This position will be tasked with developing the sales plan, building competitive analyses, qualifying prospective customers, negotiating business terms, and writing proposals and specifications. The Business Development Executive will also coordinate and work heavily with the Marketing team to develop branding and marketing outreach for Spaceport Houston as well as with the GM of operations for Houston Spaceport and any other related internal team members. This position will also manage relationships with all key stakeholders to coordinate and support Spaceport development outreach efforts. The position will require work in all aspects of the sales cycle, including prospecting, cold calling, qualifying, and negotiation. Regular activity reports will be presented to HAS leadership regarding status of lead prospecting and highlight any successful outcomes. A successful candidate should have experience using Salesforce CRM for lead tracking and development. Must be able to pass a criminal background check, obtain and maintain federally mandated security clearances where required. Essential job duties and responsibilities for the Spaceport Business Development Executive duties include but are not limited to: * Establishes sales, promotional and marketing goals to ensure share of the market and profitability of services in assigned region. Supervises personnel participating in promoting, selling and marketing the Houston Airport System. * Implements short- and long-range marketing plans/programs to ensure the growth and expansion of the Houston Airport System services. Prepares marketing activity reports/studies to ensure maximum economic utilization of airport transportation operations. * Coordinates consultants' activities in researching, analyzing and monitoring financial, technological and demographic factors to capitalize on market opportunities and to minimize effects of competitive activity in the airport transportation industry. * Participates in developing, preparing and presenting marketing and support materials to promote the Houston Airport System. Participates in defining approach strategies and developing materials for new air service proposals and business cases. * Travels extensively and sells the Houston Airport System's services by interacting with established and potential customers. WORKING CONDITIONS The position is physically comfortable, the individual has discretion about walking, standing, etc. There are no major sources of discomfort, i.e., essentially normal office environment with acceptable lighting, temperature and air conditions. The ability to lift 20 lbs. or more. Requires the ability to make simple gross motor responses within large tolerances. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Requires a Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Business Administration or a related field. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Five years of experience in marketing a large, global entity are required. PREFERENCES Experience with new product development sales a highly desirable. Strength with cold calling and producing qualifying leads a plus. Expert level user of Salesforce CRM". Aerospace Industry experience is a plus.
