The San Francisco VA Health Care System is currently recruiting for a full time Motor Vehicle Operator with Logistics Service, located at the San Francisco Division.

The major duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Performing operator rnaintenance, such as checking fluid levels, replacing air filters/interior lights, checking tire pressure, hose connections and washing vehicle.
Operating wheeled vehicles, wheel-mounted tractors; or engineering and construction equipment with wheeled or crawler-type traction.
Operating passenger buses or passenger ambulance buses regardless of gross vehicle weight.
Driving vehicles in restricted traffic environments on government installations, over public roads and highways, or under cross-country conditions.
Operating platform, van, stake and dump trucks, fuel trucks, and trash removal trucks which have a gross vehicle weight of 26,000 pounds up to 32,000 pounds. All vehicles are equipped with air brakes. Vehicles are operated over uneven terrain, over improved/unimproved mads and through congested areas on both short and long hauls.
Hauling cargo and fuel, transporting passengers, or tows/recovers equipment.
Performing other related duties.

Physical Requirements:The employee exerts moderate physical effort in operating, turning, backing, and controlling vehicles which carry heavy loads and a large number of people.
Working Conditions: Vehicles are operated in all types of traffic and weather conditions on public roads and there is exposure to the danger of serious accidents. The employee drives in heavy traffic and at highway speeds over complicated road and interchange system.
