The Department of Public Health (DPH) Tewksbury Hospital is seeking a licensed Motor Truck Driver. This position operates cars, vans, and trucks in the delivery, collection and transporting of patients, materials, food and trash.
Tewksbury Hospital under the Department of Public Health (DPH), a 370 bed Joint Commission accredited hospital, is currently hiring for the position of Motor Truck Driver. The hospital provides comprehensive treatment, care, and comfort to adults with medical and/or mental illnesses.
Please Note: This position is 40 hours per week, working first shift. Days off are Saturday and Sunday.
Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive):
Operates motor trucks to designated locations for the pick-up and delivery of supplies and food.
Operates cars or van for the transportation of patients to various agencies and hospitals.
Loads and unloads trucks by hand and with material moving equipment.
Operates snow plows and road sanders occasionally.
Make minor repairs to cars and trucks.
Service cars and trucks with oil and gas.
Report to the Motor Equipment Repairman condition of motor vehicles.
Delivers and receives materials(I.E. payroll, retirement forms, etc.)
Maintains records of mileage, gasp of destinations and repairs.
Demonstrated ability to follow oral and written instructions/directions including specifications, technical manuals, plans and drawings.
Talent for establishing and maintaining harmonious working relationships and deal tactfully with others.
Physical stamina, including the ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time and lift/carry heavy objects.
Mechanical aptitude including skilled in pipe threading, fitting and soldering.

Minimum Entrance Requirements:
I. Based on assignment, possession of a current and valid Massachusetts Class B CDL Motor Vehicle Operator's license.
II. Based on assignment, possession of a current and valid Massachusetts Class C CDL Motor Vehicle Operator's license.
III. Based on assignment, possession of a current and valid Class 2B Hoisting License issued by the Massachusetts Department of Public Safety.
