The Mortgage Servicing Specialist (MSS)position is in the Mortgage Loan Servicing Department located in West Point, GA. This position is responsible for performing routine operational duties related to the servicing of CSB Portfolio, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac loans. The MSS must provide a high level of service to fellow CSB employees and more importantly any CSB customer they may have contact with. The role of the MSS requires the ability to deliver detailed, accurate and timely responses. The MSS must have the ability to identify issues and provide workable solutions in addition to answering questions regarding loan status, booking status, loan payment processing, loan system balancing and other related loan issues. The MSS must possess a strong knowledge of loan systems and will act as a liaison with FIS/Horizon and other loan system vendors as required. This position may also include Investor Loan reporting for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, as well as other task assigned by the Mortgage Servicing Manager.


1.Perform various loan operations functions of the Loan Operations Center

Process Residential loan payments, research and make corrections for misapplied payments

  • Setup new loans (portfolio and Loans held for sale)

  • Research and identify loan system limitations related to general loan processing

  • Track Residential loan for adequate Hazard, Flood and PMI insurance

  • Processes the Unposted Item Report and the Return Item Report daily

  • Manages requests regarding Forbearance Agreements, Bankruptcies and Deficiencies

  • Review workflow process related to loans and make recommendations as

  • appropriate for changes that will gain efficiencies

Perform loan maintenance including detailed realignment of loan payments and intricate loan

  • adjustments

Prepare reports as appropriate, maintain critical documents for storage and retention

  • Monitor various reports in Acquire and maintenance loans as needed

  • Monitor and review ARM and Escrow notices

  • Reporting and maintaining Investor loans

  • Manage VIP ticket requests and provide internal support to the loan officers

    1. Delivers Quality Customer Service

a. Answer phone calls within three rings

b. Assist Center State Bank team mates

c. Assist with loan corrections for clients where appropriate

d. Attend all Training as defined by Management

3.Other Duties as assigned


High School diploma or equivalent

Successful completion of in-house training program or other approved program

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Computer skills related to Microsoft office products

Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. General Summary: Under general supervision, but in conformance with established Bank policies and procedures, cash checks, receive deposits, and perform a variety of transactions as requested by the client. Responsible for balancing each day's transactions, and maintaining cash drawer. Answers general questions regarding Bank products/services, recommends additional services to clients and makes referrals accordingly. Responsible for selling, cross-selling and referring Bank products and services. Provides excellent client service, including a wide range of client inquiries or concerns either through direct personal action or referral to the appropriate department. Travels and works in offices that are experiencing Teller or Personal Banker staffing shortages on the Teller line. This position requires the associate to drive on behalf of the Bank and the associate must adhere to Bank's Motor Vehicle Guidelines. All associates at Capital City Bank have access to confidential client information, and must practice discretion at all times. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: * Recommends and refers additional Bank services and products, retaining a working knowledge of all Bank services and products to the extent that the majority of client inquiries are easily and accurately answered. * Accepts deposits and withdrawals from clients on business, personal and savings accounts. * Accepts checks for cashing or paying, and verifies endorsements and funds. * Sells Official Checks and Travelers Checks. * Works deposits from night depository. * Accepts consumer/commercial and other bank loan payments. * Balances money in drawer with Teller machine daily. * Opens and closes Teller window in accordance with procedures. * Completes Currency Transaction Report (CTR) and hold forms as required. * Attends meetings as required. * Issues cash advances. * Sells and processes new demand and time deposit accounts. * Prepares paperwork for opening new accounts, orders checks and Debit/ATM cards, and provides materials as needed. * Researches and resolves problems and responds to client inquiries on account status. * Keeps informed of changes in Bank services and procedures. * Assists in other areas of the Bank during peak business hours, when needed. * One year commitment to position is required, before internal posting for other positions within the Bank is permitted. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA) Required: The following KSAs are usually acquired through high school education with specialized business training course(s) and/or three to twelve months cash handling experience: * Completion of in-house Personal Banker I training. * Must have reliable transportation and a clean driving record. * Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively and interact positively with clients as well as fellow associates. * Ability to follow detailed instructions and a wide range of procedures requiring some judgment. * Requires concentration to avoid mistakes in counting cash. * Ability to perform basic mathematical computations using various business machines and/or computers. * Ability to apply initiative and work with little supervision. * Ability to exercise sound and reasonable judgment. * Ability to stand for long periods of time. * Ability to print legibly and accurately on forms and records. * Sales experience is preferable, particularly in cross-marketing products and services. * Must have attained the age of 18 for coverage under insurance bond. * Must adhere to Bank's Motor Vehicle Guidelines. Education: Minimum high school diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred, but not required. Relevant experience may substitute for the education requirement.
