You will have a minimum of five years of experience within the mortgage servicing industry.
A JD from an accredited law school. is required
In this position you will report to the Senior Regulatory Counsel and assist in implementing processes to ensure the organization is compliant with regulatory requirements, reviewing and negotiating meaningful client contract terms and managing applicable licenses. Other responsibilities include:
You will be establishing relationships with meaningful federal and state licensing agencies and updating and maintaining licenses for all jurisdictions;
You will be updating Senior Regulatory Counsel on licensing status and renewals;
You will be analyzing new and pending laws and regulations that affect mortgage servicing; recommending appropriate policies, procedures, controls, reporting, contracts and agreements in response to such laws;
You will be providing legal support for licensing functions;
You will be maintaining records, compiling information, and submitting forms and applications in order to keep the licenses current;
You will be working with internal accounts payable team to ensure prompt payment of license invoices;
Under the supervision of Senior Regulatory Counsel, you will be preparing and submitting written notices of reportable events to appropriate state and federal agencies
You will assist the sales and operations staff in aligning with company procedures
You will be reading and understanding reports, validating and analyzing examination findings, identifying standard methodologies and apprising Senior Regulatory Counsel.
You will be responding to regulatory complaints, as needed
You will be performing other similar or related duties as necessary
