Minimum of five years residential underwriting experience in a retail loan environment.

DE/SARS/LAPP Highly preferred.

Current knowledge of RESPA regulations.

Strong knowledge in FNMA/FHLMC, FHA, VA, USDA programs beneficial.

Five years of AUS experience.

Experience with Encompass or similar LOS is preferred

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university preferred.

SUMMARY:

Responsible for managing and monitoring daily work flow of assigned residential loan files. The Senior Underwriter is to make sound decisions within the risk parameters, investor guidelines and WesBanco Credit Policy.

LOCATION

Consideration for location will be in any of the WesBanco markets.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Managing and monitoring daily workflow of assigned files.

Make sound underwriting decisions on loans regarding credit worthiness

Work closely with MLOs, processors and the Senior Management team.

Assist processors and MLO's with complex questions.

Ability to review and comprehend complex personal business tax returns.

Consistently meet underwriting milestones as established by Bank

Must provide exceptional, professional service to mortgage customers, originators, processors and closers.

Provide exceptional, professional service to MLOs, Processors and Closers

Consistently perform job duties in accordance with the Service Level Agreement established by the Bank for your position

Be an expert on Agency and WesBanco guidelines along with internal underwriting processes and procedures.

Excellent knowledge of secondary market guidelines.

Ability to learn and understand WesBanco's portfolio and construction loan products.

Other job duties may be assigned.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Banking is a highly regulated industry and you will be expected to acquire and maintain a proficiency in the bank's policies and procedures, and adhere to all laws, rules and regulations that are applicable to your conduct and the work you will be performing. You will also be expected to complete all assigned compliance training in a timely manner.

Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally life and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Strong customer service skills

Ability to process all Portfolio and all Secondary Market loans.

Ability to review personal and business tax returns to determine qualifying income.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office and mortgage loan processing software.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Ability to effectively communicate with staff, management team, Executive management, legal counsel and other departments.

Able to multi-task under sometimes stressful conditions.

This position is responsible for the accurate processing of new business applications, renewals, endorsements, cancellations, non- renewals and criticisms, and analyzing information critical to the Underwriting evaluation of the risk. Essential Functions: * Decide upon and execute appropriate action in support of profitability objectives for renewal of existing policyholders according to company procedures and timelines. Request information from agents, analyze data and information, update financial information and calculate experience mod factors as needed. Make profitable underwriting decisions within the timelines set by regulatory and Company guidelines within underwriting authority. Review adverse accounts on a monthly basis, prepare analysis as appropriate and issue non -renewal notices when appropriate. * Evaluate and organize new business applications by collecting and analyzing data, and evaluating loss data. Rate policy to calculate premium estimates in order to work collaboratively with the Underwriter to determine final pricing. Make an initial determination of risk desirability during the data evaluation stage to enhance work efficiency. * Correct or modify policies in light of profitability objectives by the accurate and timely processing and interpretation of endorsements, and criticisms. Cancel and issue policies according to timelines set by regulatory and Company guidelines. * Custom Business Unit - Analyze loss information with strong attention to detail, completing Jaguar® to calculate loss trends. * unite® Business Unit - Underwrite, decide upon and execute appropriate action in support of profitability objectives for automatic renewals within regulatory and company guidelines within assigned underwriting authority. Accurately complete documentation for automatic renewals. Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree in Business, Insurance or related field preferred. A high school diploma or G.E.D. and a minimum of two years industry experience is required for candidates without a Bachelor's Degree. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office computer applications; ability to learn new computer software applications. * Basic analytical ability, in order to gather data and interpret information; request more information when data is incomplete and prioritize work. * Continual attention to detail in processing policy information, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines. * Ability to communicate effectively and professionally both verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization as well as with outside customers and clients. * Ability to assess the urgency and importance of a situation and take appropriate action.
