The Mortgage Post Closing Auditor position is included in a workplace model that does allows a combination of in-office and remote work.

As a Mortgage Post Closing Auditor, essential responsibilities include:

  • Perform final audit of specific documents after closing.

  • Package loans and submit to investors to ensure timely delivery to FNMA, FHLMC and other investors.

  • Audit secondary market loan funding for accuracy.

  • Audit and submit complete HELOC/BRIDGE loan documents to appropriate internal department.

  • Responsible for accurate and complete loan delivery for purchase to the appropriate secondary market investor.

  • Primary liaison to closing agents concerning post closing documentation and problems.

  • Review pipeline for allocation of loans to investor commitments.

  • Work closely with servicing department and loan officers clearing up any file deficiencies.

  • Maintain up to date and comprehensive audit procedures in accordance with FNMA guidelines.

  • Photocopy required number of specified file documents.

  • Assist in follow up audit and shipment of documents received from loan production staff and secondary market investors.

  • Track and provide follow up action via computer for loan shipping and funding status.

  • Ensure that all loans are guaranteed by the appropriate governmental agency.

  • Help train department employees to serve in backup capacity.

  • Ensure all loan closing packages are returned promptly and in accordance with the company's closing instructions.

  • Serve as backup to the Secondary Market Coordinator, closing department and subordination department.

Skills Needed

  • Experience with Federal and State compliance laws.

  • Knowledge of FNMA guidelines.

  • Strong knowledge of mortgage documents, state and federal compliance.

  • Ability to review, understand and interpret title work.

  • Strong mathematical skills.

  • Proven organizational and attention to detail skills.
