Source mortgage loan leads from realtors, builders and personal contacts. Take original applications directly from borrowers (over the phone or in person) and coordinate with loan processors and underwriters in obtaining information necessary to close the loan. Evaluate, authorize or recommend approval of real estate or credit loans and advise borrowers on financial status and methods of payments. Work under general supervision and report to Manager, Branch.

1.Adhere to general work requirements
2.Work outbound and inbound lead sources per department standards
3.Speak with applicants to obtain information for loan applications and to answer questions about the process
4.Analyze applicants' financial status, credit and property evaluations to determine feasibility of granting loans
5.Explain to customers the different types of loans and credit options that are available, as well as the terms of those services
6.Obtain and compile copies of loan applicants' credit histories, corporate financial statements and other financial information
7.Review and update credit and loan files
8.Review loan documents to ensure that they are complete and accurate according to policy
9.Stay abreast of new types of loans and other financial services and products in order to better meet customers' needs
10. Handle customer complaints and take appropriate action to resolve issues
11. Confer with underwriters to aid in correcting mortgage application problems
12. Meet department production standards
13. Perform other duties as assigned


  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to provide outstanding customer service in fast-paced environments

  • Proficient working knowledge of computerized applications such as word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation software, email and specialized business applications software

  • Presentation skills necessary to effectively communicate, update, persuade, and/or facilitate discussions with all levels of management

  • Interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, other business areas and government agencies as required

  • Ability to:

o read and interpret complex reports and documents

o assimilate and interpret various sources of data and provide and make decisions on recommendations to executive management to solve highly complex problems from start to finish

  • Planning and organizational skills necessary to coordinate workload around multiple assignments


  • High school diploma or GED

  • 20 hours of training for SAFE Act

  • Passed the national NMLS exam

  • 1-2 years of previous experience

  • Proven ability to generate at least 3 loans per month


  • Understand and comply with State and National regulations, compliance and procedures


  • Physical demands with activity or condition existing a considerable amount of time include sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer (i.e. keyboard, mouse and monitor) or adding machine

  • Physical demands may include walking, carrying, reaching, standing and stooping

  • May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing or pulling up to 25 lb

Assist in identifying new and recurring risks related to the origination, closing, booking and funding of all Small Commercial, Commercial, Commercial Real Estate and Corporate loans for the Community Bank and other channels through a centralized processing environment. Utilize Bank systems to accurately prepare commercial loan documentation and facilitate loan closings and related activities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time. 1. Lead communication with key commercial lending leadership, which includes, but is not limited to, Market Presidents, Relationship Managers, Sales and Service Officers along with Credit Officers and Senior Loan Administrators, to ensure consistent application of the Bank's procedures and processes. 2. Responsible for efficient delivery of services to internal and external clients for all related activities including, but not limited to, loan set-up, processing, closing, funding and post-closing functions. 3. Support the commercial lending process by producing legal and supporting documentation required for closing, modification or renewal through timely and accurate input to internal systems. Manage documentation risk by ensuring documentation is in compliance with credit approval, secure a valid lien, and confirm that all pre-closing requirements are satisfied. 4. Manage documentation quality to ensure it meets or exceeds Bank's exception rate goal by identifying required loan documentation for various loan types and pledged collateral, consistently monitor exception activity and provide timely follow-up and clearing of exceptions. 5. Provide clear verbal and written communication to third parties, (e.g. attorneys, insurance agents), as needed. 6. Facilitate external loan closings (e.g. attorney closing), process executed loan documentation for booking, accurately disburse loan proceeds, and submit completed loan packages to Loan Services in a timely manner. 7. Provide superior service to internal clients by taking ownership of client needs and requests and following through to ensure timely and accurate resolution. 8. Keep abreast of the financial services industry knowledge, standards and practices.
