The Mortgage Originator is responsible for actively participating in the Bank's sales and business development program to develop new mortgage business, achieving goals as established in the department's annual operating plan. This individual will coordinate work within the department as well as with other departments, complying with operating policies and procedures established for the mortgage origination function.

Serves as a member of the Bank's sales "team" and works with other members of the sales/service team in striving to increase sales opportunities.
Meets with customers to take applications and issue required disclosures, facilitates underwriting and approval process, and attends loan closings.

Develops relationships with customers, employees, realtors, builders, and community and civic organizations to promote goodwill and generate new
Meets with prospective customers to present the Bank's financial services and to ascertain banking needs; maintains detailed records of meetings with prospective customers.
Obtains information from customers; develops and presents mortgage product recommendations based on customer's needs.
Communicates with management and staff personnel in order to integrate goals and activities.
Education & Qualifications
A B.S. or B.A. degree in a business-related field preferred.
A minimum of two (2) years' experience in related positions required.
Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations, communicative, and sales skills; thorough knowledge of current mortgage lending regulations; a working knowledge of bank operating policies and procedures which impact mortgage loan services; a thorough knowledge of the features and
benefits of all bank mortgage loan products and services; ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach with hands or arms, use hands to manipulate objects, handle or feel, and lift items weighing 20 lbs. or less; visual, auditory and speaking skills; valid driver's license is required.
