This position will be responsible for originating residential mortgage loans for First American Bank by engaging in outside sales-related activities.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Independently originate residential mortgage loans by taking applications, conduct preliminary underwriting reviews and then submit loan applications to processing and underwriting for approval.Follow-up with customers to ensure that documents required for processing, underwriting, and closing are secured in a timely manner from appropriate sources.

Interview applicants to determine the proper loan program and collect financial data and documents needed to complete the application.Make recommendations regarding the loan products that best meet the borrower's needs.Create a network of referral sources including realtors, attorneys and financial planners.

Use marketing and advertising techniques such as telemarketing, referrals and flyers to locate potential borrowers. Engage in making and soliciting loan sales and conducting sales-related activities away from First American Bank locations.

Interact with the community to maximize opportunities, grow client relationships and showcase the Bank's commitment to exceed our customer's needs.80%+ of the time is spent outside of the Bank Candidates are expected to spend at most of their time conducting their networking and sales activities away from Bank locations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent

This position requires the individual to take loan applications and close loans

This position will require the employee to register and maintain registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (NMLS).

Mortgage loan origination experience required.

3 years of sales experience required.Must demonstrate a well-developed sales ability Must have knowledge of mortgage rate pricing and underwriting requirements.

Must have knowledge of local, state and national laws (e.g. zoning ordinances, Truth-in Lending, RESPA, energy audit requirements, etc.) is required.

Ability to work independently Ability to analyze financial information Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required as this position will interact with consumers, referrals sources, internal bank employees and business line management

Strong experience with word processing software and spreadsheets

Exposure to Loan Operating Systems required.This position requires regular travel by car to various locations throughout the Bank's market

Occasional out of state travel may be required

Scheduled hours are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Night or weekends, may be required to maintain a satisfactory level of community involvement and interaction
