Purpose/Objective:

Originates quality residential mortgage loans under a variety of programs by establishing a solid referral base. Cross sells the Bank's products and lending services to the community during and after traditional banking hours, and at off-site locations.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Maintains a network of outside & inside referral sources, including individuals and organizations likely to produce mortgage referrals such as real estate brokers, attorneys, accountants, builders, financial planners and other business professionals. Promotes the Bank's residential products by maintaining regular contact with referral sources to generate new mortgage business.

  • Originates mortgage loans, pre-qualifies borrowers, counsels prospective buyers to determine needs and match with appropriate Bank program. Ensures quality and timeliness of mortgage application documentation. Follows up with applicants for information as needed.

  • Continuously monitors personal pipeline, manages expected closing dates, provides timely and accurate information to borrowers, closing agents, real estate brokers and appraisers to minimize customer service issues and provide overall quality customer service.

  • Maintains comprehensive knowledge of the Bank's mortgage and other company products and services; maintains general knowledge of mortgage industry, including maintaining an in-depth knowledge of state and federal mortgage laws and regulations.

  • Plans, coordinates and participates in activities that promote homeownership, including homebuyer seminars, home shows, broker's meetings and other home financing workshops. Maintains community involvement by serving on boards of organizations in relevant, Bank-approved areas to positively represent the Bank in the local community.

  • Ensures compliance with all banking laws, rules, regulations, and prescribed policies/practices/procedures necessary to reduce risk and uphold ethical standards related to and required by one's duties.

Must be eligible to be registered in the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry for purposes of SAFE Act.

Education:

  • High school diploma

  • Some college preferred

Experience:

  • 3 years residential lending sales experience

  • Knowledge of secondary market experience

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Superior sales skills

  • Knowledge of laws pertaining to mortgages

  • Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal/written) skills

  • Basic computer skills

Provides management reports as needed and assists with core system acquisition conversions. Ensures compliance with all banking laws, rules, regulations, and prescribed policies/practices/procedures necessary to reduce risk and uphold ethical standards related to and required by one's duties.</p><p>Key Accountabilities:</p><ul><li>Supervises the day-to-day performance and activity of the Commercial Loan Servicing team, resolving routine personnel problems and providing advice, counsel, and training to develop and motivate a highly skilled staff and ensure efficient and effective operations. Reviews staff work for completion, quality and timeliness to ensure smooth and efficient operations of the Loan Servicing function. Trouble shoots problems and then assigns or assists in a resolution. Keeps the VP of Commercial Loan Servicing informed on an ongoing basis. 30%</li><li>Provides day-to-day supervision of the core system reporting to ensure data integrity. Ensures Letter of Credits, Line of Credit reporting as well as other more complex loan monitoring of the Commercial Loan Portfolio is current and accurate. Interacts with the Lenders, Portfolio Managers and all examiners in regards to these segments of the portfolio. Supervises the processes for non-accrual and charge-off entries in core for Commercial Lending as well as all OREO transfers. 30%</li><li>Responsible for the ongoing perfection of collateral, by pulling reports, verifying that the renewal of items; such as UCC continuations. Supervises the paid loan process and monitors the accurate release of information and collateral. Oversees the process of real estate tax escrow payments and that the annual escrow analysis is being performed, resolving any issues. Ensures hazard and flood insurance is being tracked and monitored (including force placement). Assists in GL balancing, and General Ledger Reconciliation reporting to Accounting. 20%</li><li>Manages the review system generated reports to monitor rate and payment changes, tickler maintenance, rejects and all aspects quality control in core systems including new loans and modifications. Monitors the maintenance of the Base Rates in the system. Assists in the testing of new system releases and maintain new products to ensure continuity and support conversions.
