Are you an experienced product manager who loves to seek sophisticated and significant problems? The Single-Family Innovation Lab (iLab) is looking for a Product Manager to be part of its New Concepts Team to help innovate around some of the toughest challenges facing home financing. Be part of an entrepreneurial minded team composed of designers and lean product development practitioners, uncovering latent customer needs and iterating until you find product market fit. You will emphasize a lean approach to concept development, guided by the innovation targets set by Single-Family senior leadership. This role is for a builder with lean startup expertise that can work with designers, engineers and business specialists to build a compelling product vision and drive lean, agile incubation and commercialization process.

Your Work Falls into Three Primary Categories:

Lean Product Development

Assist in driving strategic concepts through a lean incubation process and, for successful concepts, transition to production product teams. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to scope, design, test, and iterate to product/market fit. Manage team to define and execute concept tests that de-risk innovation ideas against desirability, viability and feasibility criteria. Evaluate competitive landscape and establish right-to-win. Orchestrate day-to-day activities of a multidisciplinary team and prioritize features for MVP to scale product roadmaps. Support development and pitch of new concepts to senior management.

Innovation Sprint Management: Customer Insights

Facilitate multi-disciplinary teams through research - quantitative and ethnographic - and iterate to problem/solution fit. Collaborate with designers in the creation of user research plans, personas, journey maps, storyboards, system maps, user flows, wireframes, and visual design. Provide insights into product, technology, data and market trends and use inspiration to identify innovative solutions to partner problems.

Business Product Management

Develop Business Case analyses, forecasts, success metrics and Go-To-Market strategies for New Concepts incubated in the lab. Partner with Finance and industry specialists to research and develop investment analyses, distribution channel, branding, marketing and product integration strategies. Partner with fintechs and other industry participants where such partnerships support speed to market. Develop project plans.


  • 5-7+ years of working experience with lean, agile development methodologies, including de-risking offerings through market testing against identified proof-points

  • 3+ years of working experience with shipping successful products, including supporting vision, strategy, outcomes, product roadmaps and crafting and managing backlogs

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Engineering, Information Systems, Marketing or related fields

  • Financial services, human-centered design, data science, prior digital product and project management experience, preferred

  • Experience with data privacy and governance preferred

  • Proven balance of business, financial, tech and product management subject areas: ability to resolve tradeoffs that optimize usability and adoption, given timeline, funding and feasibility constraints

  • Proven track record to get things done in a rapidly changing environment

  • Experience closely collaborating with engineers and designers as part of small proactive teams

  • Ability to facilitate decision-making in a workshop context

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills!

Responsibilities * Create and deliver messaging and positioning for Splunk Observability solutions in the DevOps market. * Contribute to overall market strategy and lead cross-functional marketing efforts aimed at building awareness for Splunk Observability solutions. * Drive marketing efforts for generating leads, and increasing sales effectiveness and productivity in the DevOps market. * Work closely with field sales, inside sales, marketing, professional services, and others on messaging and target marketing. * Work across the marketing team to provide content for website, collateral, PR, media and industry analyst briefings, trade shows, online marketing, customer stories, etc. * Work with product management to help shape business and product strategy and drive execution and innovation in product and GTM. * Identify and represent the company at various speaking engagements, conferences, press interviews, industry analyst briefings, customer briefings, executive briefings, etc. * Deliver sales training and enablement and develop tools such as sales kits, ROI analysis, and qualification and messaging guides to enhance sales effectiveness. * Assist the field sales organization by providing competitive analysis and product expertise in specific sales situations. * Develop and oversee the creation of various collateral including white papers, data sheets, videos, webinars and presentations. * Drive awareness and interest for Splunk's market leading Observability solutions via blogging, published articles, presenting and driving thought leadership. Requirements * 7+ years of product marketing experience in relevant enterprise software. * Passion for DevOps and Observability, and understanding of concepts, categories, etc. * Expert storytelling ability, from helping craft core product messaging and positioning to bringing that story to life in a variety of tactics and formats. * Excellent written and oral communication/presentation skills including ability to create and deliver effective presentations. * Strong knowledge of technologies and solutions in the DevOps marketplace including Observability, the primary vendors, and industry trends and dynamics is strongly preferred. * Must be a self-starter who truly enjoys working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. * Will require travel to industry conferences, customer visits, sales meetings and other places both U.S. and international. * Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills. * Bachelor of Science in a technical discipline or equivalent.
