The Mortgage Compliance Officer is responsible for keeping abreast of new/changed mortgage laws, rules, products, technologies, and applications and assessing and communicating compliance implications for assigned areas.

  • Participate in various business initiatives, identify potential compliance risks and collaborate on solutions.
  • Recognize, document, and assess key risks, control environments and applicable consumer regulations.
  • Design and conduct compliance monitoring activities for assigned area.
  • Maintain thorough understanding of compliance risk of assigned area through ongoing advisory and monitoring activities.
  • Contribute to the Compliance Annual Risk Assessment including gathering and analyzing Key Risk Indicator results, Management Control Assessment results, industry and regulatory emerging risk trends and the adequacy/strength of the control structure.
  • Advise in the resolution of issues, including reviewing and approving corrective action plans ensuring root cause is addressed and remediation occurs as appropriate.
  • Review policy and procedure changes to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and internal policies.
  • Develop Compliance policy and guidelines.
  • Participate in special projects and fulfill ad hoc requests as needed.
  • Issue management, governance, oversight, and escalation for both Compliance-owned issues/corrective action plans and Business-owned issues/CAPs.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of mortgage regulations and origination processes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to think critically and respond to the time-sensitive needs of the business.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to track multiple projects at once
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in the mortgage industry.
  • Minimum of 5 years recent management experience in compliance, audit or legal.
  • 4 year degree required
  • Attorney preferred
  • Designation - CRCM preferred

VIEW JOBS 11/8/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-02-06T00:00 <p><strong>Key Mortgage is looking for experienced Korean/English bi-lingual loan officers to join our seven-time Top Employer organization, where the best in the business are making mortgages easier for clients across Chicagoland.</strong></p><p> </p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong> </p><p> </p> <p>· Responsible for origination of quality residential mortgages. </p> <p>· Comply with all applicable laws, regulations and lending policies. </p> <p>· Use company programs for providing services and developing new business. </p> <p>· Develop relationships and solicit loan applications through pro-active contact with local Realtors, attorneys, financial planners, and other referral sources. </p> <p>· Provide services to current and prospective customers seeking residential mortgage loans. </p> <p>· Interview applicants to develop information concerning their needs. </p> <p>· Obtain and analyze pertinent financial data for each loan applicant. </p> <p>· Ensure loan applications are complete and accurate according to policy. </p> <p>· Interview applicants, and examine, evaluate, and recommend approval of customer applications for first mortgages, second mortgages, lines of credit, and multi-family/commercial loans. </p> <p>· Analyze applicant financial status, credit, and property evaluation to determine feasibility of granting a loan. </p> <p>· Stay informed of trends and developments in the local market as well as the changing rules and regulations.</p><p><br> </p> <p><br></p><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p>· At least 2 years’ residential lending experience is preferred.</p><p>· Desktop Underwriting and/or Loan Prospector experience preferred.</p><p>· Proven sales experience and relationship building skills.</p><p>· Experience and skill in laptop origination.</p><p>· Excellent communication skills as well as PC skills.</p><p>· Must be a self-starter and able to handle multiple tasks.</p><p>· Excellent follow up skills with internal and external customers at all levels.</p><p>· Demonstrate proven ability to multi task in a fast paced, ever-changing environment, working independently and using sound business. judgment while fostering profitable business relationships.</p><p>· Superior sales, interpersonal, leadership, planning, and marketing skills.</p><p>· Ability to work effectively across functional and organizational lines.</p><p>· Excellent problem resolution and facilitation skills.</p><p>· Diligent in networking real estate agents and attorneys to obtain additional business.</p><p>· Strong knowledge of conventional loan programs. Knowledge of FHA/VA loan programs is desirable.</p><p>· Data entry competency to use technology for lead management and POS functions.</p><p>· Must be bilingual in Korean/English.</p><p><strong>Benefits</strong></p><p><strong>Deep experience.
