Job Summary
The Mortgage Banker proactively solicits new consumer mortgage business and originates a high-quality loan for the Bank's portfolio that meets both compliance standards and established production goals. Compensation will be a salary plus commissions based on funded loans.
Mortgage Bankers reflect the corporate values and ethics of WaFd Bank and exhibits leadership in the following areas: sales effectiveness and a focus on production; marketing WaFd Bank in the broader community; providing a high quality customer experience; building and maintaining productive relationships within WaFd, with new and existing clients, Realtors, builders, brokers and title companies; registering and maintaining active status with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLSR); and originating mortgage loans within the assigned geographic area. Key Functions:
Creates a client-focused and employee-friendly environment that fosters communication and teamwork by providing exemplary service and experience, including managing direct reports to maintain efficient, high-quality performance. Originates consumer residential mortgage Loans and maintains the integrity of Wafd Bank's interests in all lending activities.
Build cross referral business with Retail, Commercial and Community Banking group.
Promotes Wafd Bank within the community.
Adherence to bank policies and procedures designed to comply with Federal regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act and OFAC regulations. Other duties assigned.
