What does the Sales Associate do?

If you want to be at the beat of the Five Below pulse, our part-time Sales Associates get right in the middle of all store action. Perfect candidates have an undying passion for delivering amazing customer service, while also driving high sales results. Key Responsibilities:

  • Adheres to all standard operating procedures and policies

  • Responsible for cash handling procedures

  • Reviews and responsible for all corporate communications applicable to their assigned area

  • Assists in merchandising procedures

  • Responsible for maintaining assigned area

  • Sets and maintains Market Plan and other merchandise directives

  • Assists with execution of company data integrity process

  • Delivers exceptional customer service through personal contact with customers

  • Interacts with and assists customers

  • Assists in receiving and stocking procedures

  • Unloads merchandise from trucks

  • Checks in shipments

  • Stages merchandise for the sales floor

  • Packs out merchandise

Performs store maintenance including but not limited to taking out garbage, sweeping, cleaning bathrooms, maintaining stock room

This job description is not all-inclusive. Additional responsibilities will be determined by the General Manager, as dictated by store needs.

Essential Job Functions

  • Standing entire shift

  • Frequently operate cash register

  • Frequently move merchandise weighing up to 25 lbs and places/removes merchandise up to a height of 5-10 feet

  • Frequently ascend/descend ladders in order to retrieve and put away stock

  • Frequently position self to kneel, bend, and stoop, including in the stock room and on the sales floor

  • Frequently communicate and exchange information with customers and coworkers on the telephone and face-to-face in the store. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations

  • Frequently move across the sales floor assisting customers, as well as to and from the stock room retrieving and putting away merchandise

Minimum qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Creative thinking

  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure

BIG PICTURE: The Breakfast & Evening Social Attendant functions as a 'service ambassador' for the hotel, by greeting and engaging each guest who enters the dining area and ensuring that their breakfast experience is welcoming, positive and satisfying, and executed in accordance with brand and property standards. The Breakfast & Evening Social Attendant will set-up, prepare and re-stock the daily breakfast and evening social buffet while maintaining the highest standards of guest service, organization, cleanliness and safety. CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES: * Quickly learn daily menus, set-up, presentation, and preparation methods for hot and cold food items. * Perform opening activities each morning to ensure readiness and organization within assigned station. * Continuously observe the breakfast and evening social area to ensure food items, accompaniments and supplies are sufficiently stocked and are available for guests at all times. * Organize and fulfill special orders as requested by guests whenever possible. * Ensure that food is stored in proper containers and at proper storage and holding temperatures. * Maintain inventory of food, beverages and supplies to ensure proper pars for subsequent days. * Order and purchase food and supplies as directed by General Manager, AGM or Operations Manager. * Clear and clean seating area as needed. * Wash serving utensils and equipment after service and return to storage. * Greet, acknowledge and welcome each and every guest. * Engage each guest as unique individuals; Anticipate and listen attentively to their needs and requests. * Serve as problem solver in instances of guest dissatisfaction; Resolve complaints, concerns or issues in a timely and helpful manner. * Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures. * Report and follow up on any maintenance issues or safety hazards. * Work with Front Desk, Engineering, Housekeeping and other departments as a team to ensure a seamless guest experience. * Exercise effective, on-going communication; Relay any pertinent information to supervisor and/or fellow Breakfast and E Attendants. * Maintain work area, including counter tops, utensils, equipment, and refrigeration units in a clean and sanitary condition and in accordance with applicable laws, rules and regulations. * Maintain personal hygiene in compliance with applicable rules, regulations and laws. * Support other departments, as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
