KMTV3 News Now, the CBS affiliate in Omaha, Nebraska is looking for a passionate, experienced and accomplished anchor to compliment our existing morning team. If you are passionate about news, as well as TV reporting and anchoring experience we would love to talk to you. This position will be responsible for preparing and delivering accurate news reports for the morning newscast as well as connecting with the audience via online and social media.

What You'll Do:

  • Co-Anchor the morning newscast, Monday through Friday

  • Gather and write news content for multiple platforms, including posting stories on the internet

  • Report live on location from various news events

  • Research and develop news stories

  • Perform various community service activities for station, including performing as master of ceremonies for public service events and as host/hostess for station events

  • Periodically required to drive personal or company vehicle to cover various assignments

  • Perform other duties as needed and assigned

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism or related degree or equivalent years of experience

  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience of anchoring experience

What You'll Bring:

  • Must connect on camera with a sense of urgency

  • Must be able to speak clearly and concisely

  • Computer literacy required, including newsroom computer systems

  • Strong broadcast and AP style writing skills

  • Proficient at posting content to various websites

  • Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment

  • Able to design and build a newscast

VIEW JOBS 2/20/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-05-20T00:00 The KMTV News Internship is a paid program that gives students real-world experience and provides a unique insight into different roles in the newsroom (producer, multimedia journalist, real time editor, photographer). We work with colleges and universities to provide students the opportunity to apply coursework learned or taught in the classroom with practice in the workplace What We Require: The Internship program offers college students the opportunity to take a first step into the broadcasting industry. Interns must be: * Enrolled at an accredited college or university * Recommended as a junior or above and in good standing * Receive college/university course credit for participating in this program. The amount of course credit to be earned is determined, and must be verified by the college/university, prior to starting assignment. To receive course credit, students must comply with all school requirements as well as all station requirements. Grade point average and leadership experience are also an important part of the total assessment of student applicants. Interns are expected to work an average of 26 hours per week. The days and times are based on student availability and departmental needs. The following skills are required to be considered for the internship: * Attention to detail * Ability to write and communicate clearly and concisely * Completed at least one broadcast journalism writing course * Good organization skills * Be able to handle multiple priorities under extreme time constraints * Must be able to work early morning, evening and weekend shifts and holidays as needed What You Will Learn: * Distribute content for our digital channels * Develop and organize newscasts or local programs (writing, story development & showcasing) * Develop, create and research news leads and news tips to develop story ideas * Capture and edit visual content for multiple platforms Work Environment * Normal work environment * May need to lift 75 pounds About Scripps The E.W.
