Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a dynamic and dedicated assistant teacher to join our team for the upcoming academic year. The selected candidate will work closely with a lead Montessori teacher, assisting in the instruction and support of a mixed-aged classroom. This position is Monday through Friday, and the school day is from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., starting in August and concluding in May.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the lead Montessori teacher in implementing the Montessori Method within the classroom setting.

• Collaborate with the teaching team to develop and execute engaging and developmentally appropriate activities.

• Support student learning and development through individualized and small-group instruction.

• Maintain a safe, organized, and nurturing classroom environment conducive to learning.

• Foster positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.

Qualifications:

• Preferred Montessori certification from an accredited institution for early childhood and/or elementary levels.

• Minimum of two years of teaching experience in a school setting, with a strong commitment to Montessori teaching.

• Comprehensive understanding of child development, classroom management, and curriculum planning.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• High level of energy, enthusiasm, and adaptability.

Skills and Characteristics:

• Proficiency in child development theory, classroom organization, and outdoor environment management.

• Demonstrated ability to establish effective communication and collaboration with colleagues.

• Strong organizational skills with a focus on detail and follow-through.
