Here is some of what you can expect from being a Monitor Technician (Telemetry) with us:

  • The Monitor Technician monitors, documents and appropriately reports the patient's cardiac rhythm and pulse oximetry as needed

  • Assists the patient care team with maintaining a clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment

  • Participate as an active member of the health care team and positively promotes the rest of the team to patients/families/caregivers and other colleagues

Qualifications you will need for this role:

  • HS Diploma or GED required

  • 1 year of Telemetry skills and interpretation of rhythm strips required

  • BLS Certification through the American Heart Association required

  • CNA and/or EMT Certification preferred

  • At least 1 year of Hospital experience preferred

As a Monitor Tech/Patient Sitter you will: * Perform delegated duties consistent with his/her scope of practice, under the supervision of the RN * Function within the philosophy and overall plan of care delivery at SMC * Monitor patients using virtual camera monitors * Timely alerts care team through overhead paging system * Document according to guidelines * May be asked to perform other duties as assigned Qualifications you will need for this role: * Current BLS Certification through AHA * Current Colorado certification as a CNA preferred * High school diploma/GED required * One to two years' experience in a clinical setting preferred * Demonstrates good organizational skills. * Communicates positively and professionally with all internal and external customers. * Some specified skills may be required by specific departments.
