Responsibility for monitoring the assigned central telemetry of the adolescent and adult age patient. Documents sample strips indicating usual rhythm as well as arrhythmias. Reports arrhythmias to nurse immediate. Reports disruptions in continuous monitoring to nurse immediately. Reports equipment problems for corrective action.
Job Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:
Demonstrate knowledge of basic arrhythmia interpretation and report any changes to nurse/charge nurse immediately
Ensues rhythm strip is obtained on new admit or transfer patients immediately upon arrival to unit
Ensures rhythm strips are mounted every four (4) hours as required
Demonstrates professional behavior in actions and consistently portrays a positive attitude. (Maintains and enhances self esteem, Listens and responds with empathy, Involves the customer)
High school diploma or GED required
Basic EKG Interpretation required
Current BLS Healthcare provider certification from the American Heart Association
1-3 year(s) of Monitor Technician experience preferred.
