The Monitor Technician for Baylor Scott and White Health (BSWH) monitors, records, interprets, and documents the electrocardiograph tracings of patients on telemetry monitors. The Monitor Technician recognizes and reports arrhythmias to medical/nursing staff. In addition, the Monitor Technician for BSWH has the following responsibilities:

  • Operates complex cardiac monitoring systems, including ECG rhythm screens, computerized dysrhythmia detection system, and rhythm printers.

  • Observes and documents ECG monitors according to established guidelines and reports to appropriate staff the necessary information such as patient name, room number, cardiac rhythm, dysrhythmia, and/or life-threatening situations.

  • Maintains equipment and monitors (including proper cleaning) and reports any malfunctions to the appropriate Biomed individual.

  • Sets up central station and monitors, including alarms, troubleshooting for false alarms, and improper lead placement.

  • Helps with rhythm interpretation and dysryhthmia detection. Labels monitor strips to indicate significant events such as defibrillation, electrical-cardioversion, CPR, and/or code medication administration.

  • Records information in patient log and maintains accurate, neat account of patient's cardiac monitoring status during episode of care. Identifies and records patient's rhythm and changes in patient rhythm and/or condition.

  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the heart in relation to waves, complexes, time and voltage as shown through the conduction system and strip interpretation

  • Knowledge of telemetry services

  • Ability to work cooperatively with members of the healthcare delivery team.

  • Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in the workload and work schedules.

  • Ability to set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond quickly to emergencies.

  • Ability to handle difficult situations involving patients, physicians, or others in a professional manner.

The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with internal and external customers. Must be an effective problem solver, team player and possess strong organizational skills.

Description Position Summary: The Floor Technician is responsible for floor maintenance, restoration, and the operation of industrial floor care equipment in assigned location(s). Essential functions and responsibilities of the position may vary by Aramark location based on client requirements and business needs. Note: This is a Nicotine Free Campus Essential Functions: * Maintains knowledge of principles of hard-surface floor maintenance and use proper procedures on hard floor care including stripping and refinishing, burnishing, spray cleaning, and spray buffing * Utilize automated equipment for cleaning of large area of floor surface * Use the proper procedures on carpet and upholstering including shampooing, damp surface, extractions, spot cleaning, vacuuming, etc. * Operate the industrial floor care equipment as assigned * Perform maintenance and restorative processes for all floor surface types * Properly process all municipal solid waste (MSW) as well as infectious and pharmaceutical waste * Remove trash, recyclables, soiled linen, used supplies, and equipment from assigned work area * Disinfect receptacles and carts as needed * Adhere to safety policies and procedures * Other duties and tasks as assigned by manager Qualifications * Previous experience as a floor care technician or in related role preferred * Proven knowledge of floor care equipment and techniques required * Must be able to follow safety procedures and precautions due to physical risks * Requires frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of up to 50 lbs. * Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of greater than 50 lbs Aramark Corporation Grapevine TX
