Providence is calling a Monitor Tech 12 (Per Diem/Day Shift) to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, CA.
We are seeking a Monitor Tech 12 who will monitor electrocardiography according to established standards and practices. Responsible for reviewing patients' records to determine normal heart rhythms, monitoring current patterns and note any deviations. Requisition supplies, equipment, and services as directed.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Implement and maintain established department, unit, and hospital policies, procedures, and objectives as well as improving organization performance program, safety, environmental, and infection control policies
Prioritize work and provides prompt and efficient service
Observe cardiac monitors and documents rhythm strips in accordance with critical care standards
Promptly and accurately report rhythm variances to the charge nurse and/or nurse responsible for the patient's care
Run strips and identifies rhythms at least every 8 hours
Maintain monitoring equipment, printers and supplies; reports equipment malfunction to Biomedical Engineering and charge nurse
Requisition supplies and equipment, maintenance and repair services, and prepares related forms. Keeps stock and equipment inventories
Perform clerical duties as needed
Keep patient records current
Maintain a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients/families accordance with hospital standards
Participate in educational programs and in-service meetings
Required qualifications for this position include:
Completion of basic dysrhythmia course
MOAB I/II within 30 to 150 days of hire for employees in Emergency Dept
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Courses in health, biology, and computer technology
Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training
