Job Summary

Monitor patients' EKG waveforms at a centralized monitoring station providing safe, quality patient care. Monitor patients to provide a safe patient care environment using video monitoring equipment.

  • Observe cardiac telemetry monitors while interpreting rhythms and arrhythmias independently or with minimal supervision. Reports all changes in heat rate/rhythm to appropriate nursing staff.

    Maintain compliance with required documentation on telemetry patients. Maintain appropriate flow of communication per policy for quality patient care with nursing staff, transporters, house supervisors, operators, physicians, and other departments as warranted. Troubleshoot monitoring difficulties with central stations, alerting bio-med of any software of hardware problems.

    Orients and mentors new staff members. AvaSys Monitor Technician Place patient under continuous video monitoring. Record initiation of video monitoring on patient log and the reason for continuous video monitoring.

    Observes video of patients and calls nurse/nursing staff directly if an issue arises with the patient that needs staff response. Attempt to verbally redirect patient through microphone and encourage them to stay in bed. Record any verbal patient cueing.

    Record calls to the nurse/nursing staff. Document patient's activities at least every four (4) hours on the video-monitoring log. Notify House Supervisor (or Charge Nurse of each unit in the absence of a House Supervisor) when number of patients being monitored has reached the limit of monitors available and ask Charge Nurse to facilitate process of seeing which patients can have their continuous video monitoring discontinued.

    Perform other duties as assigned. Committed to the continuous improvement of the patient experience which includes patient safety, quality of care and excellent service. Adhere to the organization's published values.

Job Details Location: St. Joseph, MI Department: General Stores SJ - Supervisor General Stores Status: Full time Shift: Day (United States of America) Hours: 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Job Summary In keeping with our mission of providing excellent cost efficient care, the Surgical Product Specialist maintains surgical products inventory which enhances patient care while cost effective in nature. Working closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, OR staff, central processing, and materials management, this position assists in product selection by overseeing clinical trials, maintaining evaluation worksheets and tabulation of results. Works with the director/manager on issues of non-inventory items and capital requests. * Maintains a stock reorder system in the operating room and or Central Processing o Performs inventory counts once a year and periodic cycle counts. o Manually and per computer checks supplies as needed in the sterile core, OR, CP. o Checks sterile storeroom stock levels and orders consumable(disposable) products, implants as needed o Signs daily supply of distribution items o Orders and receives all special order items for the department. o Works closely with the Purchasing Department to assure that all packing slips match exactly with the requisition and the P.O. number. Any discrepancies are handled immediately to avoid invoice problems. o Checks the surgery schedule for cases that may need unusual supplies. o Works closely with Resource leader to provide supplies and assure that they arrive on a timely basis for physician satisfaction. • Upgrades standards of inventory. o Works closely with the OR / CP personnel entering charges. o Working with the Materials Management Department obtains pricing information on all non-stock items that are brought in for the day.
