Molecular Technologist (Mt/Mlt) - Day Shift

Lighthouse Lab Services is seeking a dedicated MT/MLT for a molecular diagnostic lab near Covington, LA. The candidate will be responsible for performing high complexity infectious disease testing on patient samples and reporting results accurately. Adherence to clinical laboratory quality control, safety, documentation policies, and regulatory guidance (CLIA and COLA) is required.

Shift: DAYS / Mon-Fri / Rotating Saturday or Sunday

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform authorized tests as directed by the laboratory director.
• Follow procedures for specimen handling, processing, test analyses, and maintaining patient test result records.
• Maintain records to demonstrate proficiency testing samples are tested similarly to patient specimens.
• Document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and maintenance.
• Follow established policies for test systems not within acceptable performance levels.
• Identify and correct problems affecting test performance or report issues to a supervisor or director.
• Document corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from performance specifications.
• Use professional judgment to evaluate specimen integrity, result accuracy, and take corrective actions if necessary.
• Participate in proficiency testing samples and test them as patient specimens.
• Follow OSHA and Bloodborne Pathogen guidelines.
• Participate in laboratory training programs.
• Utilize job knowledge, judgment, and problem-solving skills to ensure work quality.
• Communicate effectively within the laboratory and with clients.
• Perform responsibilities collegially and as part of a team.

Education and Experience:

• Molecular experience is highly preferred
• Current Louisiana license or temporary license as Clinical Laboratory Scientist-Technician or specialist required.
• ASCP, AAB, AMT, or equivalent certification preferred.
• Meet all qualifications set by CLIA for high complexity testing and any state requirements.

License/Certification:

• Louisiana State License (MT/MLT)
