Primary Purpose: To drive quality systematic improvements throughout the Molding Department. To plan, coordinate, supervise, and administer the activities of the Quality functions in the Molding Unit.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Manage/supervise the activities of QC technicians & QC inspectors.
Provide customer service at the plant level by responding to customer requests/complaints as necessary.
Lead, facilitate, and participate on problem solving and natural work teams.
Develop, implement, and maintain departmental standard operating procedures and work instructions to ensure compliance to the quality and environmental management systems.
Disposition of internal quality issues and customer returns. Support module specific 8Ds and monitor overall 8D effectiveness for the molding department.
Provide guidance in the development and analysis of inspection requirements, gaging criteria, SAP requirements, product requirements, product processing techniques, and methodologies.
Work with AQP Engineers, Design Engineers, and Manufacturing Engineers on qualification, PPAP, and Safe-Launch of new and existing products. Participate in and support the APQP process..
Lead quality improvement focal point for the molding unit by establishing goals, tracking progress, and reporting the progress.
Ensure that FMEA, control plan, and process flow documentation are effectively deployed in production and that requirements are periodically reviewed for all processes.
Pursue continuous cost improvements/savings. Support driving consistency between the various modules and teams within the molding department.
Assist the department with quality inspection support scheduling by ensuring staff is in place according to production schedule.
Drive best-in-class containment practices within the molding department.
Train new employees, monitor attendance, maintain personnel records, and complete employee appraisals.
Provide guidance in the development of and analysis of inspection vision systems by leading, facilitating new or improved vision, and gauging inspection activities.
Support internal, external, and third-party auditors to satisfy program requirements and/or IATF/ISO conformance.
Actively support Lean/Six Sigma initiatives and programs.
Scope: Accountaable in providing Lincoln Quality Management and Molding team data support and facilitation of customer quality related issues. Has the authority to ensure integrity and effectiveness of customer quality management process is improved and maintained.
Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality, STEM, or management field
At least 2 years' experience in manufacturing or quality-related field
Training in or experience with high-speed manufacturing
Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed (responsibility for all shifts)
Ability to travel as necessary (up to 10%) to customers, suppliers, or other Molex locations, including international sites

Advanced degree or certification
Experience in IATF16949 / ISO9001 standards and auditing
Experience with SAP and quality software (Minitab, Gainseeker, etc.)
Knowledge of statistical and quality tools, application of SPC, Gage R&R, and DOE
Experience in application of quality problem solving tools: RC/CA, 5-Why analysis, Cause-and-Effect analysis, 8D problem solving
Knowledge of Quality Management Systems and related standards
