The incumbent of this position is responsible to provide mold flow analysis using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software to generate key parameters for proper design of hot runner systems and molds. They must effectively interface with internal groups to communicate the effectiveness of the pressure drop, number of gates, temperature distribution, cycle time, etc., and trouble shooting of hot runners.
In this role, the incumbent will be responsible for conducting theoretical modelling/tests and evaluating results. They will also determine the optimum design specifications and approaches for hot runner systems and molds. They will be an advocate of the improvement of design processes by standardizing tools; mentor others to achieve continuous flow; develop technology and methods to support best practices; and work with the Applications Team to eliminate inefficiencies.
In this role, the incumbent is responsible for identifying, researching and assisting in resolving design and data problems, frequently in consultation with other employees or supervisors. They will evaluate designs and processes from a highly technical perspective and facilitate a continuous improvement orientation.
