Join the Dermatology team as a Mohs Surgical Assistant (MA-C)

The Dermatology/Mohs department at Gateway Salmon Creek is seeking a full-time Mohs Surgical Assistant to assists the Mohs surgeon by providing and controlling surgical instruments and equipment during Mohs stages. Must have active Medical Assistant-Certified credential from Washington State Department of Health, Dermatology experience, preferred.

In this role you will ensure that instruments and supplies are cleaned, sterilized and available as needed, provide hands-on assisting with Mohs procedures and wound closures/repairs, and assist with lab/pathology processing of Mohs specimens. In addition, the Mohs assistant will assist the dermatology providers in day-to-day dermatology patient flow.

Schedule is four, 10 hour shifts: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 7:00am to 5:30pm, Wednesday off. Compensation: Wage range starts at $24.21, higher based on evaluation of experience

Requirements:

  • Active Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified

  • Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider BLS CPR certification.

  • Working knowledge of aseptic techniques and sterilization practices.

  • Two years of experience in an outpatient surgery center, Mohs dermatology practice, or office-based surgery department preferred.

  • Must have reliable and predictable attendance.

Pay Range:

$24.21 - $33.90

Benefits-eligible employees accrue PTO and Personal Time based on hours worked and State worked, totaling 120 hours in the first year for full time staff and 200 hours in the first year for full time supervisors and above, increasing in subsequent years.

PTO and Personal Time accruals are pro-rated by FTE/hours worked. Non-benefits eligible employees will accrue Personal Time based on hours worked and State worked. Employees will also enjoy up to six paid holidays per year, depending on schedule. Contact your recruiter for more information.
