Description

  • Leads and represents the module in the Plant to accomplish the agreed targets and objectives.

  • Directs and coordinates all activities of the Plant product portfolio for the module.

  • Drives and supports the target achievement of the Quality Management and Engineering department.

  • Serves as the representative of the German central department in the Plant. Directs and coordinates achievement of module and process chain targets (quality, function, and improvements for manufacturability).

  • Steers the design and release of components within the module by order of the CoC (Center of Competence) in the BMW central group.

  • Leads the cross functional module team in the Plant.

  • Reports to management in the Plant and the applicable CoC and process chains in the BMW central group.

  • Coordinates the mandate of the CoC to direct the series vehicle teams in the plant.

  • Provides training and guidance to process partners on release processes. Incorporates the module into the overall departmental goals and objectives.

  • Collaborates actively with all levels of associates and management in the CoC s.

  • Manages the development of solutions to highly complex or (un)usual technical problems.

  • Complies with the Plant management systems through appropriate training and awareness, as well as continuous improvements of systems within area of responsibility.

  • Integrates the launch activities of new models and derivatives into the existing module/series team landscape of the Plant.

  • Understands and models VPS (Value Added Production System) Principles and concepts of Standard Work and Problem Solving.

  • Adheres to 5S and Safety Standards and Principles.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in Engineering; OR AA/AS degree in a technical field AND 2 years of professional automotive, engineering, manufacturing, or quality management experience; OR The equivalent of 4 years of related professional automotive, engineering, manufacturing, or quality management experience.

  • 5+ years of professional experience in automotive, engineering, manufacturing, or quality management.

  • 3+ years of experience in project/teamwork.

  • 8D Problem Solving Process (preferred).

  • Plant Spartanburg Quality Management and Engineering Systems (preferred).

  • As applicable, per BMW MC Training Guidelines.

  • B1 License (preferred).

  • 5+ years of MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Access).

  • 5+ years of professional communication skills (written, verbal and presentation).

  • 3+ years problem-solving skills.

  • 3+ years skills in process development with internal and external organizations (preferred).

  • 3+ years knowledge of functional vehicle area (preferred).

  • German language skills (preferred).
