Modeling & Simulation Analyst (Afsim, Ngts)

LinQuest Corporation is seeking a Modeling & Simulation Analyst with direct experience implementing either Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM) and/or Next Generation Threat System (NGTS) to help advance Department of Defense (DoD) capabilities to conduct mission-level modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) of complex, adaptive kill webs.

The selected individual will serve on a broader multi-disciplinary team of operational military subject matter experts, operations research analysts, and modelers conducting sponsor-directed studies and analyses using an environment and MS&A tool being developed by DARPA. Other applicant requirements and job functions include:

• Support a team of software developers and modelers in the development of platform, weapon, system, and behavior models for use by the study team.

• Implement models in study scenarios and vignettes as required.

• Develop software operational testing protocols and/or procedures as required.

• Support operational testing as required.

• Prepare documentation of models, processes developed or employed, and test results.

• Must be able to work independently without direct supervision.

• Experience developing core AFSIM and/or NGTS is preferred.

• An active Top Secret clearance with Sensitive Comparted Information (SCI) eligibility is required.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience

• Master's Degree in a related field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience

• Degree must be in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, or related fields

• High level of proficiency in AFSIM and/or NGTS combat modeling environment(s)

• Ability to think creatively and function as part of a high-performing team

• Excellent oral and written communications skills

• Proficiency in one or more of the following: Python, C++, XML

• Experience implementing simulation models to inform executive decision-making

• Familiarity with Joint warfighting capabilities, advanced weapons, current and future operational concepts

• Active DoD Top Secret clearance with current SCI eligibility

• Eligible for Special Access Program (SAP) access

• US Citizenship

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Understands systems engineering principles and can identify data exchange requirements between software modules and/or subsystems

• Thorough understanding of behavior modeling in AFSIM and/or NGTS

• Data analysis, design of experiments, and/or optimization experience using R, JupyterLab, Python, MATLAB, or similar analytic software

• Master's Degree in a related field with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience

• Experience developing mission-level modeling & simulation software

• Extensive knowledge/experience in Joint warfighting capabilities, advanced weapons, current and future operational concepts and modeling & simulation of the same

• Experience developing and implementing tools in a Linux environment

• DoD 8570-approved certifications (or demonstrated equivalency):

• CompTIA Security+ or Level I equivalent, and/or

• ISC2 Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP) or Level II equivalent

• Active DoD Top Secret clearance with active SCI within the last 12 months
