Overview of the role
Perform monthly, quarterly, annual and on request model executions for models housed on the AXIS modeling platform. Duties include data preparation, production burn in runs, attribution runs and production reporting runs. In addition, execute model input controls to help assure the accuracy and integrity of the model runs. Perform active run monitoring and review of logs for errors to insure efficient escalation of issues for resolution. Ensure all model runs are performed within published reporting windows & model owners and valuation leads have the model results in MicroStrategy delivered within published delivery dates.
Work to be performed / Major responsibilities
Liaise with model developers, QA, model owners and IT to:
Understand how to operate the model, including performing documented runbook instructions.
Participate in model development / release meetings as required to be up to speed on model changes.
Perform readiness assessments to assure models transitioned into production adhere to published standards.
Collaborating on the timely escalation and remediation of errors.
Liaise with IT and model development to Fulfill all AXIS production modelling runs under required timelines. Fulfill all AXIS production modelling runs under required timelines, with accuracy, integrity and required control attestation.
Track all model data dependencies to assure all data is in within published timelines. Escalate timely as needed.
Perform model data-oriented configuration / setup following published runbook instruction.
Run scripts (delivered by model developers) to load data to the models.
Run control routines and review results. If pass, progress to model runs, if fail, escalate timely as needed.
Follow hotfix protocols when development changes are to be made in the production model during production.
Run model execution scripts according to runbook instructions.
Monitor model runs, review logs to ensure processing looks ok. If issues, escalate timely as needed.
Deliver results to model owners & valuation actuaries through reporting, queries or excel as per instructions.
Assure all Pega tasks for all of the above are closed as the work is being performed for accurate status tracking.
Document all run logs in accordance with production procedures.
Record all issues encountered during production and host retrospective with IT, Dev, QA. Model owners and management. Ensure that issues and improvements are implemented as needed.
Ensure production documentation is up to date & Pega accurately reflects all tasks, owners and dates.
Perform all model runs (scheduled and adhoc) as per stakeholder's requirement.
Ensure smooth and seamless transition of production activities across on-shore and off-shore team members throughout the production cycle.
Skills Required:
Knowledge of SQL databases, comfortable authoring SQL statements
Knowledge of excel, including advanced features such as functions, pivot tables, macros, etc.
Strong written and oral communication skills
Comfortable operating in a team setting, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to operate efficiently under tight timeframes.
Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail
Good problem-solving skills.
Bachelor's degree
Desired but not required:
Experience with working with snowflake
Experience with SDLC & Devops techniques
Knowledge of insurance data
Programming skills with Microsoft, SAS, etc.
2 years equivalent experience in data management / business intelligence

For positions based in Jersey City, NJ, the base salary range is $45,200-$63,300 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan. For positions based in New York, NY, the base salary range is $47,100-$66,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
