Penske Technology Group has an opening for a Model Maker / TestTechnician with experience in the basics of rapid prototyping, CAD, researchand development testing, scale model construction / modification / maintenance,computer controlled equipment / model motion, and instrumentation. The Model Maker / Test Technician will workat Penske Technology Group's wind tunnel operations. Knowledge of compositematerials, composite lay-up, scanning / reverse engineering, andmechanical/electrical/computer systems is essential. A background in automotive,aircraft, or aerospace R&D preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Automotive (primarily wind tunnel and vehicle dynamic) testing.

  • Developing and building wind tunnel models and associated prototype test parts.

  • Instrumentation calibration and installation.

  • Light fabrication, machining and mechanical assembly.

  • Build, instrument and maintain scale model and full scale race cars for wind tunnel testing.

  • Interface with Engineering personnel to conduct aerodynamic and various research and development testing.

Qualifications:

  • Must have excellent attention to detail and patience for precision measurement.

  • Ability and experience to operate computer controlled equipment.

  • Ability to understand procedural manuals, execute work orders, interpret engineering drawings/CAD models and utilize precision metrology/measurement equipment.

  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and prepare reports and documentation.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to solder and crimp electrical connectors and neatly route/secure instrumentation, wiring, cabling, looms, sensors, etc.

  • Ability to stoop, kneel, climb and lift up to 50 pounds. Will be required to work on knees for extended periods of time on rolling road in wind tunnel test section.

  • Ability to work flexible schedule and overtime occasionally to accomplish on-time delivery.

  • Associates degree in Science (A.S.) preferred.

  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience.

VIEW JOBS 12/4/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-04T00:00 The primary purpose of this role is to develop, execute, and manage both store level and warehouse level safety stock inventory strategies within assigned product categories that ensure product availability for Lowe's customers to help drive sales, leverage inventory, support service levels/in-stocks, and manage invested capital. This position operates as part of the Inventory Optimization team within the Supply Chain Planning department reporting to the Manager of Supply Chain Analytics. Responsibilities: * Develops in collaboration with product category Supply Chain Planning teams safety stock strategies to be modeled in JDA Inventory Optimization (IO) application modeling tools * Configures JDA IO inputs and settings to optimize outputs aligned with current state of business, business needs, and goals * Consults with Supply Chain Planning teams on results of IO modeling output impacts to safety stock inventory dollars, and total inventory dollars at both warehouses and stores based on previously mentioned strategy inputs with heavy emphasis on advising and influencing decisions for implementation * Implements updated safety stock settings into JDA IO production tracking inventory, sales, turn rate, in-stock performance post implementation * Manages IO strategy exceptions specific to key item characteristics to maximize in-stock performance in alignment with strategy while leveraging total inventory across the supply chain * Supports overall supply chain and inventory optimization initiatives serving as project lead for business need projects defined by the Manager of Supply Chain Analytics * Collaborates with partners on the Supply Chain Planning & Inventory Fulfillment team to align on safety stock review schedule cadence, and executes any off-cycle requests required of the business * Utilizes inventory expertise to identify gaps, root cause (to include lead time variability, demand variability, customer service level settings), and proposes solutions * Performs "what if" scenario optimization modeling to understand the implications of changing inventory parameters (specifically safety stock parameters and store presentation management values) * Acts as Subject Matter Expert on all JDA Inventory Optimization functionality, logic, and projects stemming from enhancements and upgrades; conducts peer-to-peer training on use of models and tools * Supports JDA IO system enhancements and upgrade efforts from defining business and technical requirements to implementation, as well as maintenance and enhancement of tools, reporting, and models outside of JDA Required Education/Experience * Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Distribution, Industrial Engineering, Business Management, Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Analytics, Economics, or related field * 2+ years of Experience in one of the following areas: Inventory Management, Demand Planning, Optimization, Operations Planning, Business Analytics, Fulfillment or Industrial Engineering; strong understanding of inventory fulfillment, demand planning, KPI reporting, and overall supply chain processes and inventory management concepts * OR * 5+ years of Experience in Supply Chain Operations * Minimum intermediate proficiency with analytic business tools Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Access Preferred Education/Experience: * Master's Degree in Business Administration or Industrial Engineering * SQL ERP System such as JDA, JD Edwards, Manhattan, Oracle, SAP, etc. Lowe's is an equal opportunity affirmative action employer and administers all personnel practices without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, marital status, veteran status, genetics or any other category protected under applicable law.
