Pratt & Whitney, a worldwide leader in jet engines, is seeking a dedicated Model Based Program Manufacturing Engineer for Digital Tools Roadmap development and progression as we transform into a Model Based Enterprise industry leader.

This role reports to the Program Manager, Model Based Digital Thread, and is a part of the Manufacturing Engineering function within Pratt & Whitney's Operational Excellence organization. Model Based - Definition, Manufacturing, and Inspection (MD-DMI) is one Pratt & Whitney's Model Based Enterprise (MBE) pillar projects focused on the advancement of digital tools to create a collaborative model-based process design ecosystem to enable improvements in process development speed and effectiveness.

In this role, you will be responsible to drive implementation of MB-Manufacturing and Inspection across Pratt & Whitney's internal and external operations. MB-DMI is a company-wide initiative to augment 3D models with formats that enable automated consumption in manufacturing business processes such as: NC programming, Tool Design, Work Instruction authoring, Inspection Programming, First Article Inspection, Process Capability Analysis monitoring & reporting, Physics based modeling, Material Review Board (MRB) for discrepant material. This effort is focused on creating the digital thread that supports efficient automated re-use of data across all these processes for internal and external producers.

Key Responsibilities:(include, but are not limited to the following)

  • Support Define and implement MB-DMI interoperability, assess impact of digital thread into manufacturing, drive identification and closure of risk mitigation steps where maturity gaps are identified.

  • Develop a strategy to execute to program milestones consistent with the MB-DMI Strategy.

  • Assure collaboration and alignment across disciplines and functional organizations to ensure technical development of Digital Thread connectivity.

  • Support providing technical solutions for Engineering Design, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality to align with the MB-DMI Vision and Strategy.

  • Ability to define and document requirements for part geometry of 3D models.

  • Development of methods/Work Instruction & standard work for in process 3D geometry to support deployment across the enterprise.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience and 2+ years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Project Management, Quality or prior relevant experience.

  • Work schedule: Remote

  • US Person Status required due to government contracts.

  • Travel up to 10%.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong leadership, effective communication skills (both verbal and written), self-motivated, persistent, and focus on results.

  • Able to multi-task and be able to work through roadblocks, raising issues and identifying solutions to ensure tasks are driven to completion.

  • Collaborate with all the organizations that comprise the MB-DMI team (Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Digital Technologies (DT), PW MRO, PWC, RTX, software developers, etc.) and integrating the requirements for the Operations organization.

  • Technical proficiency in Complex Manufacturing activities.

  • Excellent knowledge of MS office computer software including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Ability to influence cross functional teams.

  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • NC programming experience, PLM, CAM, NX, Team Center, Solumina G7, SAP and related systems.

The Pratt & Whitney Hot Section Module Center Manufacturing Engineering Organization is seeking a highly motivated individual to support Hot Section Module Center South's manufacturing engineering organization. This position will be 100% on-site. Key Responsibilities: * Represent manufacturing during Engineering Change proposals and promote best practices regarding design for manufacturability. * Organize and Lead Manufacturing MRL assessments for significant design and/or process changes. * Manage New Product Development through the shop and supplier base. * Drive quality improvement and cost savings projects. * Help create and maintain shop floor work instructions (including specifications, engineering changes, QAD/process control, and tooling definition/requirements). * Provide focused & effective leadership in eliminating EH&S/Ergonomics/Human Factors risks and addressing quality issues. * Identify & implement shop floor process optimization & control methods to eliminate/prevent QCPC turn backs /escapes and reduce overall assembly costs. * Participate in CORE/ lean manufacturing initiatives. Basic Qualifications: * A Bachelor's degree in engineering required with 5+ years' experience. * US citizenship required due to government contracts. Preferred Qualifications: * Applicable manufacturing engineering experience and turbine airfoil processing knowledge are a strong plus for this position. * Excellent communication/presentation skills. * Strong project engineering/planning skills. * Statistical process control skills (Six-sigma training).
