Join our Disaster Management team in Houston as Mobile Team Lead!
This position is responsible for overseeing the mobile teams including housing advisors and support staff that will be meeting with homeowners or landlords at a mobile site to assist in the completion of the survey or an application to one of the City of Houston's CDBG-DR funded housing repair, rehabilitation, or reconstruction programs. As a Mobile Team Lead you will lead the team but will also perform the duties of the housing advisors to assist applicants in timely completion of the survey and an application at the mobile site.
Advises and explains housing policies, rules, and forms to homeowners and landlords.
Coordinates various aspects of intake services for both the survey and application, and case management, including monitoring and assessment of applicants needs and services.
Track and keeps data records to prepare performance reports and metrics for the mobile teams.
Identify and track trends and needs of the applicants as identified through the survey and application intake process. This will help to make any required changes to the survey or application intake process in order to expedite the application completion process.
Develops and maintains professional relationships with coworkers, homeowners, landlords, tenants and other external groups to provide effective and timely customer service, information, and problem resolution.
Advises applicants/homeowners and landlords of City of Houston's CDBG-DR housing programs regulations, policies, and procedures in accordance with HUD regulations.
Effectively utilize all available resources
Interview applicants to obtain initial information to complete a survey, or a CDBG-DR housing program application to determine eligibility.
Collects and verifies information.
Sends receives, analyzes, and processes electronic and hard copy correspondence, documents and forms.
Enters homeowner, landlord or tenant information into appropriate computer system.
Performs other duties as required.
College Degree or 3 years equivalent experience.
Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience working in the following areas in management role; disaster recovery program management; Social Services Block Grant (SSBG), HUD CDBG, CDBG-DR, and/or FEMA Programs.
Ability to remain calm and maintain self-control during difficult circumstances and emergencies and to respond in a professional manner in all situations.
Working knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Analytical skills that reflect the ability to focus on gathering and documenting detailed information.
Written and verbal communications skills.
Creative problem-solver with ability to come up with outside of the box solutions.
Willingness to work unusual hours and on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays and to travel across the City of Houston.
Bi-lingual in Spanish, or other language is a plus.
