Dependability and flexibility; able to meet irregular working hours, including weekends and out of town mobiles.
Constantly performs all procedures applicable to mobile operations outlined in the Donor Services SOP manual accurately and efficiently.
Treats donors and other staff in a friendly, professional manner on a daily basis.
Performs and/or competently manages all aspects of registration, donor screening, safety procedures, venipuncture, and donor reactions constantly.
Assures that all supplies are packed, ready for mobiles, and maintained in good condition on a daily basis.
Supervises and assists in loading supplies and set up/break down of mobiles including lifting of heavy objects daily.
Occasionally act as a mentor for new staff members, working to enhance skills in donor screening and phlebotomy.
Assigns staff members daily to specific duties; establishes break times and rotation times at mobile sites
Meets with the chairperson daily at the mobile site and discusses donor flow, volunteer help, and any other pertinent information.
Provides Donor Services management with current personal telephone contact information.
Consistently supervise all activities at the mobile site to maintain smooth donor flow and a calm atmosphere.
Makes final decisions concerning suitability of mobile operations
Supervises staff in setting up screening areas for privacy and safety
Supervising staff in setting up bed units for cleanliness, safety, and efficiency.
Supervising staff in setting up canteens in clean, pleasant and safe manner away from blood borne areas and near enough for observation of donors.
Make final decision concerning suitability of donors at mobile operations daily.
Calibrates all equipment daily prior to start of mobiles, or delegates to appropriate staff members.
Maintains current CPR certification.
Consistently manage moderate to severe donor reactions and gives final release to donor. Either completes donor reaction form or reviews all reactions forms prior to end of mobile.
Maintains all MBS equipment and informs support staff of any defective equipment consistently.
Supervises and maintains interior cleanliness of MBS vehicles on a daily basis.
Maintains ability to drive all MBS vehicles occasionally.
Occasionally assist in training new staff, volunteers and other staff members.
Accurately completes required paperwork and reviews for quality assurance on a daily basis.
Reviews all mobile paperwork to ensure completeness and tractability daily.
Reviews donor history sheets, performs quality checks on paperwork and keeps quality control records on equipment consistently.
Evaluates Mobile Operations and summarizes Mobile Operations Records on a daily basis.
Reports any problems or suggestions consistently, including discipline problems with staff at the mobile site or after hours when out of town, to the Manager of Mobile Supervision and Manager of Mobile Services.
Attends all mandatory meetings.
Performs any other special duties as requested by the Manager of Mobile Supervision, Manager of Mobile Services and/or Supervisor, Mobile Services.
Fifth Year College or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience (minimum LPN/EMT preferred).
Stable work history
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds with assistance.
Ability to meet flexible working schedule.
Valid driver's license and excellent motor vehicle record (MVR).
Maintains current CPR certification.
Work at a faster than-average pace in a multi tasked environment, maintaining the existing standards and organizational relationships efficiently.
Fluctuating schedule to include early mornings, late nights, and overnights
