About the Team
Tesla's Mobile Robotics team designs and builds humanoid bi-pedal robots (Tesla Bot) to automate repetitive tasks and wheeled robots for manufacturing and autonomous logistics. The team joins mechanical, electrical, controls, software, and manufacturing engineering disciplines in a highly collaborative team
The Mobile Robotics team is seeking a highly motivated mechanical engineering intern who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to work on cutting-edge mechanical systems for our robots. Within the Mobile Robotics group, you'll have the opportunity to work with incredibly talented engineers who are responsible for many of Tesla's innovations. We love when candidates show real-world mechanical projects they've designed.
Design and optimize joints and structures for mass, stiffness, cost, and manufacturing
Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to create a cohesive and balanced product
Fabricate prototypes, iterate rapidly
Develop specifications and accelerated test plans to validate the product for its determined lifetime
Working toward BS or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or Mechatronics
Proficiency in designing parts and assemblies using 3D modeling software (CATIA preferred)
Experience drafting engineering drawings and conducting tolerance stack-up analysis (GD&T bonus)
Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment
