Mobile Mental Health Specialist

Department: Mental Health and Wellness

Reports to: Director of Mental Health and Wellness

General Description:

The Mobile Mental Health (MMH) Specialist will receive referrals from CIS Student Support Managers within the assigned feeder pattern. Based on identified need, the MMH Specialist will report to identified CIS campuses, as needed, to provide brief therapeutic interventions to students and families.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Supportive Guidance and Counseling

  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for targeted students and families

  • Create a brief-solution focused intervention plan for each targeted student

  • Provide individual and group counseling to targeted students

  • Available to offer crisis intervention during critical situations at CIS campuses in collaboration with Student Support Manager

  • Provide training on issues relevant to CIS Mobile Team

  • Collaborate with CIS Student Support Managers to gather recommendations for targeted students to receive services through CIS Mobile Mental Health Program

  • Case staffing with CIS Student Support Managers on a regular basis to seek input and report on student progress

  • Monitor and document student progress toward goals

  • Evaluate program effectiveness

Health and Human Services

  • Provide relevant referrals to clients for on-going support to meet individualized needs

  • Coordinate and oversee interns assigned per university requirements

Administrative

  • Manage a time card

  • Attend all meetings and trainings as required

  • Complete required documentation

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Educational Requirements:

  • Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMSW, LCSW, LMFT, LMFT-Associate, LPC, LPC-Associate)

Minimum Experience Requirements:

  • Four years of related work experience

  • Experience with at-risk populations and cross-cultural environments

  • Experience working with children and families preferably in a school setting

Required Knowledge & Skills:

  • Valid Texas Driver License

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Knowledge of brief solution-focused and other brief interventions

  • Ability to articulate program goals in a public setting

  • Ability to work with multiple levels of supervision within CIS and the campus

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to meet short- and long-term deadlines

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

Compensation and Benefits:

Base Pay: Starting at $50,287/year

Additional Pay: License Stipend $4,000/year

Applicable Bilingual Stipend $1,500/year

Other Pay: Business Mileage Reimbursement
