● A structured apprenticeship program that fosters the growth and development of individuals,

providing them with hands-on experience, mentorship, and training opportunities in various

aspects of the quarry and construction industry.

● Minimize equipment downtime for construction, asphalt, quarry, and other divisions.

● Provide services in the most cost-effective and timely approach for all aspects of the

business.

● Establish a well-developed equipment/component rebuild center which will enhance uptime

and reduce downtime of our fleet.

Role:

● All field mobile equipment team field technicians will report to this role; including the drill

mechanic.

Responsibilities:

● Point of Contact for Area / Plant Manager for scheduling of mechanics

● Apprentice & Mechanic Training

● Assist in managing the flow of machines to rebuild at the I-75 Mobile Shop

○ Goal - components, and parts to be ordered before the machine arrives

● Use other support areas such as Middle TN for speciality or priority machines. Will also

help area managers decide if outside vendors should be called to participate

● Responsible for quarterly performance dialogue

○ With consideration of feedback from area and plant managers.

● With the help of the EMS team for reporting - Maintain mobile equipment repair and

maintenance records through the Equipment Maintenance System and other methods.

○ Improve LabCheck

○ Repair Orders

○ Utilization Tracking

○ Cost Reporting

● Relationship building- with multiple management levels

● Track Used parts and equipment with rebuild components that are sitting at the East TN

locations

● Work towards creating a rebuilding facility in the tri-city area

● Take an active role in prioritizing safety for yourself and others throughout the operation at all

times in accordance with OSHA/MSHA and Vulcan standards. Comply with all Safety,

Health, Environmental, and other Company policies, procedures, and requirements.

● Monitor Costs. Continually evaluate employee performance and the effectiveness of the

repair and maintenance program to look for opportunities for improvement.

Skills You'll Need:

Maintenance Knowledge. Must be familiar with reliability-centered maintenance principles.

Interpersonal Skills. Must have verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with employees and vendors.
