NSO is accepting applications for current and future needs within our COPE unit.
Currently we are searching for candidates who strive to make an impact in our community. Part time, full time and various shifts are available.
COPE is a new community-based program that provides immediate psychiatric intervention to Wayne County Medicaid consumers in crisis.
COPE teams, consisting of a clinician and a peer support specialist member, are contacted by medical officials to respond to hospitalized individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. Following an assessment, the team determines and facilitates the authorization of psychiatric care to best suit each individual's needs such as detox/substance abuse residential treatment, transitional housing or outpatient services.
In later phases the COPE team may intervene at the consumer's place of residence at times of crises.
COPE is a partnership between Hegira Programs Inc., Northeast Guidance Center and NSO.
The Mobile Crisis Specialist engages with community stakeholders, e.g. ER staff, AFC providers, community clinic staff, etc. prior to and during the consumer assessment process to facilitate effective and efficient usage of COPE services.
Master's Degree from an accredited college or university, specializing in psychology, social work, or guidance and counseling.
Must be fully licensed as an LMSW, LLP or LPC by the State of Michigan and must maintain licensure in order to continue employment in this role
Anyone hired with a limited license will need to secure FULL licensure within 1 year of employment.
Must have MCBAP SUD credentialing or a Development Plan in place.
Valid Michigan driver's license and proof of auto insurance and meet the minimum driving competency standards.
